Thermal dynamics and the time constant domain
IEEE Transactions on Components and Packaging Technologies, 2000The time-constant spectrum representation is a useful description of the dynamic thermal behavior of packages, assemblies and microsystems. After presenting the idea of the time constant spectrum representation of microelectronic structures, the paper provides an algorithm that can be used for time constant spectrum calculation in thermal simulator ...

On the thermal time constant of structural walls
Applied Thermal Engineering, 2004Abstract In the present investigation a numerical model is employed for the calculation of the transient wall heat flux, under the effect of a step temperature change at a particular wall side, for given initial and boundary conditions. The results were employed for the evaluation of the wall thermal time constant, which is widely employed quantity ...

Time Constants of the Vestibular Thermal Reaction
Acta Oto-Laryngologica, 1989For the thermal test, adaptation time constants of about 100 s are described in the literature. By automatically alternating hot-cold irrigation, as designed by us, precision of stimulus application of different temperatures was considerably improved. Furthermore, temperature was registered with a thermocouple device.

Time constants in thermal laser medicine
Lasers in Surgery and Medicine, 1989AbstractTemperature rise of laser‐irradiated tissue due to direct absorption of laser light is related to laser parameters (power, spot size, irradiation time, and repetition rate) and tissue parameters (absorption and scattering coefficients, density, heat capacity, and thermal conductivity).

Are thermal constants constant? A test using two species of ladybird
Journal of Thermal Biology, 2014There is a controversy about whether the thermal constants, lower developmental threshold, rate of development and corresponding degree days required for development, change when a species is reared under different developmental conditions. We present a more precise way of measuring these constants using the linear relationship between the rate of ...

Supercapacitor ageing at constant temperature and constant voltage and thermal shock
Microelectronics Reliability, 2010This paper presents supercapacitor ageing according to the voltage, the temperature and thermal shock tests. To investigate this effect, a test bench of accelerated supercapacitor calendar ageing was carried out. Experimental tests are realized at constant temperature when the supercapacitors are polarized at the maximum voltage.

The thermal response of a semi-infinite medium in air, irradiated by laser light in a cylindrical geometry, cannot accurately be approximately by single radial and axial time constants for heat conduction. This report presents an analytical analysis of hear conduction where the thermal response is expressed in terms of distributions over radial and ...
