Workflow for Design of Experiments‐Based Modeling of Species Transport and Growth Kinetics in GaN Hydride Vapor Phase Epitaxy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A novel workflow for investigating hydride vapor phase epitaxy for GaN bulk crystal growth is proposed. It combines Design of experiments (DoE) with physical simulations of mass transport and crystal growth kinetics, serving as an intermediate step between DoE and experiments.

Growth, Structure and Prediction of the Thermal Internal Boundary Layer [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
The Thermal internal Boundary Layer (TIBL) is a dynamic and turbulent mesoscale feature of the coastal atmosphere that forms over the land during conditions of onshore flow.

Investigating the role of Fick’s and Fourier diffusions in the bounded slippery spinning motion of generalized thermally radiative materials

open access: yesHigh Temperature Materials and Processes
This study aims to analyze low Reynolds number three-dimensional flow generated by two infinite, rotating as well as stretching disks for a class of non-linear materials governed by the Cross viscosity model, motivated by applications in polymer ...

In Situ Micromechanical Study of Bimodal γ′–γ″ Precipitate Assemblies in Ni–Cr–Al–Nb Superalloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A Ni–Cr–Al–Nb superalloy with a bimodal γ′–γ″ precipitate distribution is developed. Composite precipitate assemblies form through heterogeneous nucleation, effectively impeding dislocation motion. Micropillar compression reveals high strength at room and elevated temperatures, governed by precipitate shearing, with coupled faulting mechanisms ...

Toward Knowledge‐Based Workflows: A Semantic Approach to Atomistic Simulations for Mechanical and Thermodynamic Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Knowledge‐based atomistic workflows are presented for mechanical and thermodynamic properties. By coupling modular simulations with ontology‐aligned metadata and provenance, Fe case studies on elastic behavior, defects, thermal properties, and Hall–Petch strengthening reveal how FAIR, queryable, and reusable simulation data can be generated. Mechanical

Molecules dancing in membranes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
In 1828, a botanist named Robert Brown found that small pollen particles suspended in water migrated in an erratic fashion. Later it was realized that the dance Brown observed was essentially a two-dimensional random walk driven by thermal fluctuations ...

ANALYSIS OF THE THERMOPHYSICAL PROPERTIES AND INFLUENCING FACTORS OF VARIOUS ROCK TYPES FROM THE GUIZHOU PROVINCE

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2018
A series of analyses have been carried out on a number of rock types from the Guizhou Province to investigate their thermophysical properties. A total of 433 samples from 14 types of rock were collected, tested and analyzed.

Electrochemical Behavior of Flame‐Sprayed Sc‐Doped AlCoCrFeMo High‐Entropy Alloy Coatings in 3.5% Sodium Chloride Solution

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Scandium (Sc)‐doped AlCoCrFeMo HEA coatings are fabricated via flame spraying with 0.1, 0.3, and 0.5 wt% Sc additions. Among these, the HEA‐Sc0.3 coating exhibits the highest corrosion resistance, indicated by a more positive corrosion potential and lower current density.
