Diffusive thermal instabilities of C4H10-C3H8 / Air Laminar Premixed Flames [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Preferential heat and mass transfer induces diffusive thermal instabilities in premixed laminar flames. Such instabilities in hydrocarbon flames are characterized by cellular structure and a tendency to promote flame extinction.

Creep‐Induced Microstructural Evolution in an A2‐B2 Superalloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A 27.3Ta‐27.3Mo‐27.3Ti‐8Cr‐10Al (at.%) refractory high‐entropy alloy with precipitation‐strengthened A2‐B2 microstructure was studied by creep tests at 1030°C, which demonstrate a transition in deformation mechanisms in the range of 100–150 MPa applied stress. This is associated with changes in dislocation–precipitate interactions. Relevant deformation

Tooth-whitening activity of a novel home-bleaching system utilising thermal diffusion : a multifactorial simultaneous evaluation of efficacy at cervical, body and incisal tooth sites [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Introduction The ability of a thermal diffusion system (TDS) to promote the tooth-whitening actions of a bleaching gel/bleaching activator combination product (containing a final hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) content of 10.0% (w/v)) towards discoloured 'smile-

A THERMODIFFUSION INFLUENCE ON THE THERMAL LENSE RESPONSE IN A LIQUID DISPERSIVE MEDIA [PDF]

open access: yesФизико-химические аспекты изучения кластеров, наноструктур и наноматериалов, 2013
The stationary thermal lens response in thin layers of two component medium is analyzed. It is showed thermodiffusion can strongly influences on the thermal lens itself and the transmittance coefficient of medium.

Influence of Test Temperature and Test Frequency on Fatigue Life of Aluminum Alloy EN AW‐2618A

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The influence of test temperature and test frequency on the fatigue life of EN AW‐2618A is investigated. High‐cycle fatigue tests are performed at different test temperatures and frequencies on the 1000 h/230°C overaged state. Both test parameters reduce fatigue life due to time‐dependent damage mechanisms.

Structural Study of Copper Doped Single-Crystal Silicon by Diffusion

open access: yesEast European Journal of Physics
The paper presents the results of a structural study of single-crystal silicon doped with copper by thermodiffusion at 1423K. The object of the study was n-Si crystals grown by the Czochralski method, containing SiO2 oxygen precipitates.

Creep Properties and Deformation Mechanism of Additively Manufactured NiAl‐CrMo Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Additively manufactured NiAl‐CrMo composites contain numerous interfaces and cell boundaries that control their creep response. At 700°C under high applied stress, creep is dominated by dislocation‐controlled power‐law mechanisms. At 800°C–900°C and lower stresses, creep is primarily diffusion‐controlled along cell boundaries.
