Quantitative study of near equilibrium in dissociative mechanism of nickel in silicon [PDF]
The dissociative mechanism of nickel in silicon has been studied experimentally, assuming the near equilibrium represented by CiCV / Cs = Ci eq C eq / Cs eq , where subscripts i, V, and s represent interstitial nickel atoms, vacancies, and substitutional

Diffusion-Limited Crystallization: A Rationale for the Thermal Stability of Non-Fullerene Solar Cells [PDF]
Organic solar cells are thought to suffer from poor thermal stability of the active layer nanostructure, a common belief that is based on the extensive work that has been carried out on fullerene-based systems. We show that a widely studied non-fullerene

New features on yttria‐stabilized zirconia after exposure at 1500°C: Newly discovered pyramidal structures on an old material. After exposure at 1550°C on the cross section of YSZ new features, namely pyramidal structures are discovered. These structures grow with time, increase in numbers, appear as singularities, are often arranged in strings, and ...

Critical evaluation of numerical techniques for highly non-linear field diffusion modelling [PDF]
Various numerical techniques have been applied to multidimensional field diffusion problems with front-type behaviour, moving boundaries and non-linear material properties.

Voltammetry under a Controlled Temperature Gradient
Electrochemical measurements are generally done under isothermal conditions. Here we report on the application of a controlled temperature gradient between the working electrode surface and the solution.

Creating Ti–Fe α/β Alloys by Diffusion‐Driven Solid‐State Processing
This study proposes making alloys containing fast diffusing elements that are difficult to produce by ingot metallurgy, by diffusion‐driven solid‐state HIP processing of elemental powders and low‐temperature homogenisation. Here, novel Fe‐Ti α–β alloys are formed having fine α–β lamellae, a small β prior grain size without significant intermetallics ...

Photoacoustic thermal diffusion flowmetry
Thermal Diffusion Flowmetry (TDF) (also called Heat Clearance Method or Thermal Clearance Method) is a longstanding technique for measuring blood flow or blood perfusion in living tissues. Typically, temperature transients and/or gradients are induced in a volume of interest and the temporal and/or spatial temperature variations which follow are ...

Performance Analysis of Abradable Coating Systems for Aircraft Gas Turbines
Three CoNiCrAlY/YSZ/MgAl2O4 abradable liner configurations on a nickel‐superalloy are evaluated by thermal‐gradient cycling and incursion tests. Laser ablation of the bondcoat and/or Y2O3‐stabilized ZrO2 (YSZ) intermediate layer increases mechanical interlocking and bonding for thick topcoats.
