Packed bed thermal energy storage for waste heat recovery in the iron and steel industry: An experimental study on powder hold-up and pressure drop [PDF]
Waste heat recovery in the energy intensive industry is one of the most important measures for the mitigation of climate change. The utilization of just a fraction of the theoretically available waste heat potential would lead to a significant reduction of the primary energy consumption and hence a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

Nanofluid Filled Enclosures: Potential Photo-thermal Energy Conversion and Sensible Heat Storage Devices [PDF]
In the present work we propose "nanofluid filled enclosures" as potential photo-thermal energy conversion and sensible heat storage devices. Herein, the optical charging of the nanofluid has been modeled as "solar radiant energy - nanoparticles" interaction.

Radiative bistability and thermal memory [PDF]
We predict the existence of a thermal bistability in many-body systems out of thermal equilibrium which exchange heat by thermal radiation using insulator-metal transition (IMT) materials. We propose a writing-reading procedure and demonstrate the possibility to exploit the thermal bistability to make a volatile thermal memory.
