Exergy loss as a basis for the price of thermal energy

Abstract The actual value of thermal energy can only be obtained by a qualitative or exergy analysis of its conversion, transport and distribution. The exergy value of heat, or its capacity to perform work, can contribute to formation of a good basis for determining a fair economic price for thermal energy.

Exergy Analysis of a 600MW Thermal Power Plant

This paper has made an exergy analysis of the performance of a 600 MW thermal power plant at specific load of 470 MW, and studied on the exergy loss and its distributing of each subsystem and equipment. This study presents several methods to evaluate the exergy of thermal and nuclear radiation. First, a general treatment is developed for the thermal radiation exergy flux. Second, the exergy of thermal radiation is derived from a simple, general, original thermodynamic argument.
