Anisotropy of Thermal Conductivity and Possible Signature of the Fulde-Ferrell-Larkin-Ovchinnikov state in CeCoIn_5

open access: yes, 2004
We have measured the thermal conductivity of the heavy-fermion superconductor CeCoIn_5 in the vicinity of the upper critical field, with the magnetic field perpendicular to the c axis.

Effective Neutrino Photon Interaction in a Magnetized Medium [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Neutrino-photon processes, forbidden in vacuum, can take place in presence of a thermal medium or an external electro-magnetic field, mediated by the corresponding charged leptons (real or virtual).

E2A selectively regulates TGF‐β–induced apoptosis in KRAS‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ability to induce apoptosis by TGF‐β is frequently lost in advanced lung adenocarcinoma despite intact TGF‐β signaling. We identify E2A as a mutant KRAS–dependent mediator of resistance to TGF‐β–induced apoptosis. TGF‐β induces E2A via SMAD3 in mutant KRAS cells, and E2A silencing restores apoptosis and enhances radiation response in cell lines ...

Identifying transcription factors controlling the basal expression of human MRP4 highlights a substantial role for Sp1

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The MRP4 transporter exports several drugs and signaling molecules. Here, we identified key promoter elements regulating basal MRP4 expression. Using reporter assays, we defined a conserved region with essential Sp1 and contributory Ets sites, which controlled basal MRP4 expression.

Results Concerning the Optimization of Factors that Interfere in the Drying Process of Skins in Microwave Field [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, 2013
A full factorial design was coupled with numerical simulation in order to find the best position of the dielectric material inside the applicator. The considerate dielectric material processed in this study is leather.

Multitip Near-Field Scanning Thermal Microscopy [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2019
A theory is presented to describe the heat-flux radiated in near-field regime by a set of interacting nanoemitters held at different temperatures in vacuum or above a solid surface. We show that this thermal energy can be focused and even amplified in spots that are much smaller than those obtained with a single thermal source.

The Classical Approximation for Real-Time Scalar Field Theory at Finite Temperature [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
The use of classical thermal field to approximate real-time quantum thermal field theory is discussed. For a \lambda\phi^4 theory, it is shown that the classical Rayleigh-Jeans divergence can be canceled with the appropriate counterterms, and a ...

UiO‐66 metal–organic frameworks in biomedicine: From structural tunability to bioimaging, photodiagnostics, and photodynamic cancer therapy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
UiO‐66(Zr) metal–organic frameworks are chemically stable, biocompatible, and highly tunable nanomaterials. Their modular structure enables controlled drug delivery, multimodal bioimaging, and light‐activated photodynamic therapy, supporting integrated diagnostic and therapeutic (theranostic) applications in cancer and biomedical research.

Thermal fluctuations in the conical state of monoaxial helimagnets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The effect of thermal fluctuations on the phase structure of monoaxial helimagnets with external magnetic field parallel to the chiral axis is analyzed by means of a saddle point expansion of the free energy.

Predicting Epileptogenic Tubers in Patients With Tuberous Sclerosis Complex Using a Fusion Model Integrating Lesion Network Mapping and Machine Learning

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Accurate localization of epileptogenic tubers (ETs) in patients with tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) is essential but challenging, as these tubers lack distinct pathological or genetic markers to differentiate them from other cortical tubers.
