Interest Points as a Focus Measure in Multi-Spectral Imaging [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
A novel multi-spectral focus measure that is based on algorithms for interest point detection, particularly on the FAST (Features from Accelerated Segment Test), Fast Hessian and Harris-Laplace detector, is described in this paper.

A parsec-scale flow associated with the IRAS 16547-4247 radio jet

open access: yes, 2003
IRAS 16547-4247 is the most luminous (6.2 x 10^4 Lsun) embedded young stellar object known to harbor a thermal radio jet. We report the discovery using VLT-ISAAC of a chain of H_2 2.12 um emission knots that trace a collimated flow extending over 1.5 pc.

Thermal Image Restoration Based on LWIR Sensor Statistics

open access: yesSensors, 2021
An imaging system has natural statistics that reflect its intrinsic characteristics. For example, the gradient histogram of a visible light image generally obeys a heavy-tailed distribution, and its restoration considers natural statistics.

Errors in Thermographic Camera Measurement Caused by Known Heat Sources and Depth Based Correction

open access: yesInternational Journal of Automation and Smart Technology, 2016
Thermal imaging has shown to be a better tool for the quantitative measurement of temperature than single spot infrared thermometers. However, thermographic cameras can encounter errors in acquiring accurate temperature measurements in the presence of ...

Towards people detection from fused time-of-flight and thermal infrared images [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2014
Obtaining accurate 3d descriptions in the thermal infrared (TIR) is a quite challenging task due to the low geometric resolutions of TIR cameras and the low number of strong features in TIR images.

Infrared and Visible Image Fusion with Significant Target Enhancement

open access: yesEntropy, 2022
Existing fusion rules focus on retaining detailed information in the source image, but as the thermal radiation information in infrared images is mainly characterized by pixel intensity, these fusion rules are likely to result in reduced saliency of the ...
