This study reports lightweight polyetherimide triply periodic minimal surfaces lattices coated with carbon nanotube‐reinforced epoxy that combine mechanical robustness with self‐sensing. The conformal coating enhances stiffness, strength and energy absorption while enabling reliable strain monitoring.

Creating Ti–Fe α/β Alloys by Diffusion‐Driven Solid‐State Processing
This study proposes making alloys containing fast diffusing elements that are difficult to produce by ingot metallurgy, by diffusion‐driven solid‐state HIP processing of elemental powders and low‐temperature homogenisation. Here, novel Fe‐Ti α–β alloys are formed having fine α–β lamellae, a small β prior grain size without significant intermetallics ...

Thermal noise in interferometric gravitational wave detectors due to dielectric optical coatings
We report on thermal noise from the internal friction of dielectric coatings made from alternating layers of Ta2O5 and SiO2 deposited on fused silica substrates.

Do not let thermal drift and instrument artifacts deceive high‐temperature nanoindentation results. We compare classical Oliver–Pharr and automatic image recognition analyses across steels and a Ni alloy to quantify these effects. Accounting for artifacts reveals systematic softening with temperature, while Cr and Ni additions boost resistance ...

Spin torque antiferromagnetic nanooscillator in the presence of magnetic noise
Spin-torque effects in antiferromagnetic (AFM) materials are of great interest due to the possible applications as high-speed spintronic devices. In the present paper we analyze the statistical properties of the current-driven AFM nanooscillator that ...

Bioinspired Shape‐Memory Hook Fasteners With Programmable Interlocking and Silent Release
Bioinspired hook fasteners made from epoxy shape‐memory polymers are shown to switch between strong, secure attachment and gentle, silent release when heated. By combining programmable geometry and material response, these adaptive fasteners outperform commercial systems in strength and noise control, enabling new solutions for robotics, medical ...

Balun LNA Thermal Noise Analysis and Balancing With Common-Source Degeneration Resistor
The Balun low noise amplifier (LNA) is an LNA that exploits a combination of a common-source (CS) and a common-gate (CG) transistors, which cancels the noise and distortion of the CG stage.

Quantum Brownian motion induced by thermal noise in the presence of disorder
The motion of a quantum particle hopping on a simple cubic lattice under the influence of thermal noise and of a static random potential is expected to be diffusive, i.e., the particle is expected to exhibit `quantum Brownian motion', no matter how weak ...

In Situ Micromechanical Study of Bimodal γ′–γ″ Precipitate Assemblies in Ni–Cr–Al–Nb Superalloy
A Ni–Cr–Al–Nb superalloy with a bimodal γ′–γ″ precipitate distribution is developed. Composite precipitate assemblies form through heterogeneous nucleation, effectively impeding dislocation motion. Micropillar compression reveals high strength at room and elevated temperatures, governed by precipitate shearing, with coupled faulting mechanisms ...
