Analysis of Primary Frequency Regulation Ability of Shandong Power Grid Thermal Power Unit

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2021
Abstract Shandong Power Grid is about to achieve the development goal of 30% of new energy power generation installed capacity, 30% of foreign power input into Shandong, and 30% of thermal power installed capacity. Neither new energy power generation nor external power has the ability to adjust primary frequency.

Interaction between Molten Al‐Killed Mn–B Steel and Carbon‐Bonded MgO Refractories Based on Recyclates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
High‐temperature interactions between low‐sulfur Al‐killed Mn–B steel and MgO–C refractories (0 and 50 wt% recyclates) are studied via finger immersion tests (1600 °C). Surface‐active elements influence infiltration. MgO/CaS layer forms, along with spinel and calcium silicate.

Dynamic Control Method of Thermal Power Units Compensating for Wind Power Disturbance

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science, 2019
Abstract The randomness and volatility of wind power generation are the main reasons restricting the capacity of power grid to absorb wind power. Thermal power units are the main force of power grid frequency modulation. The speed of load adjustment rate determines their response ability to power grid load.

A Thermodynamic 3D Model for the Simulation of Diffusion‐Controlled Alloying Processes in Heterogeneous Material Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A numerical model resulting from irreversible thermodynamics for describing transport processes is introduced, focusing on thermodynamic activity gradients as the actual driving force for diffusion. Implemented in CUDA C++ and using CalPhaD methods for determining the necessary activity data, the model accurately simulates interdiffusion in aluminum ...

Characterization of Nitinol Produced by Laser Powder Bed Fusion for Mechanical Metamaterial Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Stabilization of L‐PBF Ni50.7Ti49.3 under low‐cycle loading was investigated. Recoverable strain after cycling was dependent on the amount of applied load. Recovery ratio was 53.4% and 35.1% at intermediate and high load, respectively. The maximum total strain reached 10.3% at a high load of 1200 MPa.
