Thermal Tests of LMS100 Gas-Turbine Units at the Dzhubga Thermal Power Plant

Test results at different loads and ambient temperatures for LMS100 PB gas-turbine units at the Dzhubga thermal power plant are discussed. The performance indicators for these gas turbine units and their turbine equipment, combustion chambers, and air cooling systems are determined.

An isotope‐powered thermal storage unit for space applications

An Isotope‐Powered Thermal Storage Unite (ITSU), that would store and utilize heat energy in a ‘‘pulsed’’ fashion in space operations, is described. Properties of various radioisotopes are considered in conjunction with characteristics of thermal energy storage materials, to evaluate possible implementation of such a device.
