Thermal Casimir effect in Kerr space–time

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2015
We investigate the thermal Casimir effect of a massless scalar field for two parallel plates moving in the equatorial orbit in Kerr space-time. Under the assumption that the typical cavity size is much smaller than the orbital radius, proposed by Sorge, we deduce the analytical expression of the renormalized free energy in this curved space-time.

Mechanochemical Synthesis and Characterization of Nanostructured ErB4 and NdB4 Rare‐Earth Tetraborides

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
ErB4 and NdB4 nanostructured powders are produced by mechanochemical synthesis. 5 h mechanical alloying and 4 M HCl acid leaching are used in the production. ErB4 and NdB4 powders exhibit maximum magnetization of 0.4726 emu g−1 accompanied with an antiferromagnetic‐to‐paramagnetic phase transition at about TN = 18 K and 0.132 emu g−1 with a maximum at ...

Germination response of Hylocereus setaceus (Salm-Dyck ex DC: ) Ralf Bauer (Cactaceae) seeds to temperature and reduced water potentials

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Biology
The germination response of Hylocereus setaceus seeds to isothermic incubation at different water potentials was analysed by using the thermal time and hydrotime models, aiming to describe some germination parameters of the population and to test the ...

Agronomic performance and beer quality assessment of twenty hop cultivars grown in Central Italy

open access: yesItalian Journal of Agronomy, 2016
Hop market and beer industry have always been of secondary relevance in Italy as compared to grape and wine sector. Hence, hop cultivars and the information for growing hops have been generated almost entirely from the major hop production countries ...

New time contour for equilibrium real-time thermal field theories [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 1993
A new time contour is used to derive real-time thermal field theory. Unlike previous path integral approaches, no contributions to the generating functional are dropped.

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

Modeling phenological responses of Inner Mongolia grassland species to regional climate change

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters, 2016
Plant phenology is an important indicator of ecosystem dynamics and services. However, little is understood of its responses to climate change, particularly in ecologically sensitive regions such as arid and semi-arid grasslands.
