Hydrogeological properties of the thermal source Rimske Toplice
The Rimske Toplice thermal resort has been sadly abandoned since 1991. However, the mechanism of the thermal source is again earning greater attention of general public through recent efforts of Spa revitalisation.

TMC4 localizes to multiple taste cell types in the mouse taste papillae
Transmembrane channel‐like 4 (TMC4), a voltage‐dependent chloride channel, plays a critical role in amiloride‐insensitive salty taste transduction. TMC4 is broadly expressed in all mature taste cell types, suggesting a possible involvement of multiple cell types in this pathway.

Levels of natural radioactivity in mineral and thermal waters of Bosnia and Herzegovina
With gamma spectrometric method 23 samples of mineral and thermal waters of Bosnia and Herzegovina were analyzed. Activity concentrations of the investigated radionuclides were in the range 12–346 mBq·L−1 for 40K, 1.1–791 mBq·L−1 for 226Ra, 0.2–221 mBq·L−

dUTPases are involved in balancing the appropriate nucleotide pools. We showed that dUTPase is essential for normal development in zebrafish. The different zebrafish genomes contain several single‐nucleotide variations (SNPs) of the dut gene. One of the dUTPase variants displayed drastically lower protein stability and catalytic efficiency as compared ...

Transcriptional Response to Acute Thermal Exposure in Juvenile Chinook Salmon Determined by RNAseq. [PDF]
Thermal exposure is a serious and growing challenge facing fish species worldwide. Chinook salmon (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha) living in the southern portion of their native range are particularly likely to encounter warmer water due to a confluence of ...

Thermal conductivity of hemp concretes: Variation with formulation, density and water content
This study investigates the effect of formulation, density and water content on the thermal conductivity of hemp concretes. The investigations are based on experimental measurements and on self-consistent scheme modelling.

Enzymatic degradation of biopolymers in amorphous and molten states: mechanisms and applications
This review explains how polymer morphology and thermal state shape enzymatic degradation pathways, comparing amorphous and molten biopolymer structures. By integrating structure–reactivity principles with insights from thermodynamics and enzyme engineering, it highlights mechanisms that enable efficient polymer breakdown.
