Trends in the spin combustion of thermites

Combustion, Explosion and Shock Waves, 1982
This article presents results on the main laws of spin combustion for thermite compositions. Examines the combustion in various thermite systems with various degrees of component dilution with reaction products in order to choose the objects. Discusses effects of external factors, effects of system parameters, and temperature distribution in spin ...

Rigless Abandonment with Bismuth and Thermite

SPE Symposium: Decommissioning and Abandonment, 2018
Abstract In today's oil and gas industry, successful well abandonment is becoming increasingly more important, particularly in subsea wells. Proper abandonment of a well the first time not only saves the operator time and money, it also ensures that our environment is not negatively impacted.

Thermal Profiles Of Thermite Reactions

SPIE Proceedings, 1985
Thermite is a mixture of a metal and oxide which is consolidated to form a composite chemical heat source. Thermal profiles of reacting thermite composites were generated and analyzed to determine the burn rate and the heat propagation during and after the reaction. These thermal profiles are used to establish rates of heat transfer.

Boron as Fuel for Ceramic Thermites

Energy & Fuels, 2014
Boron submicrometer particles (22.3 m2/g) were used as fuel to prepare energetic compositions with bismuth(III) oxide (2.7 m2/g) and copper(II) oxide (10.7 m2/g), leading to unconventional submicrometer-thermites being made solely of ceramic compounds.
