Comparative study of the effects of natural fibers on the physical, thermal and mechanical properties of soil building blocks

open access: yesMateriales de Construccion
With a view to valorizing local resources, juncus fibers have recently been used as reinforcements in building materials. The aim of this study is to compare their thermophysical and mechanical behavior in adobe with that of coconut fibers, which are ...

Pastato termofizinių savybių modeliavimas naudojant „Simulink“

open access: yesInformacijos Mokslai, 2008
Šildant pastatus ne tik užtikrinamas komfortas, bet ir energetiškai teršiama aplinka, o gaminant kurą teršiama atmosfera. Šildymui mažiau sunaudojant energijos sutaupoma lėšų ir mažinama tarša.

Biomass Native Structure Into Functional Carbon‐Based Catalysts for Fenton‐Like Reactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study indicates that eight biomasses with 2D flaky and 1D acicular structures influence surface O types, morphology, defects, N doping, sp2 C, and Co nanoparticles loading in three series of carbon, N‐doped carbon, and cobalt/graphitic carbon. This work identifies how these structural factors impact catalytic pathways, enhancing selective electron

Phase and mechanical property prediction of intermetallic-strengthening Ti-Al-Cr-Nb-Ni-Cu-Co high entropy alloys by thermo-physical parametric calculation and CALPHAD-based technique [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences
Non-conventional alloy developmental approach targeted at incorporating intermetallics as strengtheners using thermo-physical parametric calculation and CALPHAD-based tool (ThermoCalc software) were adopted in the design of septenary non-equiatomic ...

DNA‐Templated 2D Heterostructures as Phototriggered Dynamic Nanohybrids: From Releasing Molecular Loads to Controlling Enzyme Biocatalytic Function

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
DNA strands are employed both as dynamic linkers and nanoscale templates for the integration of Ag2S nanoparticles on MoS2, which in turn imparted photothermal responsiveness; this feature permits the selective cargo (fluorophore, quantum dots or an enzyme) release from the MoS2 surface in response to local heat induced by light irradiation.

Investigation of The Use of Some Metallic Oxides Nanoparticles on The Internal Cooling Performance of Air in a Gas Turbine Stator Blade

open access: yesActa Technica Jaurinensis
The need to operate gas turbines at high temperatures for better performance places a high demand on their material selection and limits them to only a few.

Intermediate Resistive State in Wafer‐Scale Vertical MoS2 Memristors Through Lateral Silver Filament Growth for Artificial Synapse Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In MOCVD MoS2 memristors, a current compliance‐regulated Ag filament mechanism is revealed. The filament ruptures spontaneously during volatile switching, while subsequent growth proceeds vertically through the MoS2 layers and then laterally along the van der Waals gaps during nonvolatile switching.

Modelling of the Thermo-Physical and Physical Properties for Solidification of Al-Alloys [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The thermo-physical and physical properties of the liquid and solid phases are critical components in casting simulations. Such properties include the fraction solid transformed, enthalpy release, thermal conductivity, volume and density all as a function of temperature.
