Survey of Acetylation for Thermoanaerobacter tengcongensis

Applied Biochemistry and Biotechnology, 2023
Non-histone protein acetylation is involved in key cellular processes both in eukaryotes and prokaryotes. Acetylation in bacteria is used to modify proteins involved in metabolism and allow the bacteria to adapt to their environment. TTE (Thermoanaerobacter tengcongensis) is an anaerobic, thermophilic saccharolytic bacterium that grows at extreme ...

Secondary Alcohol Dehydrogenases from Thermoanaerobacter pseudoethanolicus and Thermoanaerobacter brockii as Robust Catalysts

ChemBioChem, 2021
AbstractAlcohol dehydrogenases (ADHs) are an important type of enzyme that have significant applications as biocatalysts. Secondary ADHs from Thermoanaerobacter pseudoethanolicus (TeSADH) and Thermoanaerobacter brockii (TbSADH) are well‐known as robust catalysts.

Branched-chain alcohol formation from branched-chain amino acids by Thermoanaerobacter brockii and Thermoanaerobacter yonseiensis

Anaerobe, 2014
Thermoanaerobacter species degrade branched-chain amino acids to a mixture of their corresponding branched-chain fatty acids and alcohols in the presence of thiosulfate; only acid formation occurred when Thermoanaerobacter strains were cultivated in co-culture with a hydrogenotrophic methanogen.

Ethanol fermentation characteristics of Thermoanaerobacter ethanolicus

Enzyme and Microbial Technology, 1985
Abstract Thermoanaerobacter ethanolicus is an extreme thermophilic non-spore forming ethanol-producing anaerobic bacterium. Minimum nutrient requirements and optimum growth conditions have been established. An optimum yeast extract-glucose ratio for ethanol yield has also been determined.
