Colorimetric description of thermochromic printing inks
The dynamic colour of three commercial reversible thermochromic inks were studied. Thermochromic print-ing inks change their colour according to a change in temperature. The two types of thermochromic inks are based on leuco dyes and liquid crystals. The thermochromic effect achieved by liquid crystals is quite different from the effect achieved with ...

INVESTIGATION OF THE IMPACT OF CHEMICAL AGENTS AND SUBSTRATES ON THE STABILITY OF THERMOCHROMIC PRINTING INKS [PDF]
This research aims to analyse the chemical stability of thermochromic (TC) prints to determine which substances affect the TC effect and which parameters contribute to their better stability. Two different types of paper were chosen: synthetic and bulky, each distinguished by its unique chemical composition and absorbency characteristics.

This review systematically examines how different transition metal compounds—such as binary and multinary metal oxides, halides, sulfides, and salts—exhibit thermochromism based on the d‐electron configurations of their transition metal cations. It focuses on three main mechanisms of thermochromism: phase transition, charge transfer, and bandgap change.
