EFFECTS OF MODEL PARAMETERS IN THERMODYNAMICS OF THE PNJL MODEL [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics A, 2012
The thermodynamic behavior of the two-flavor (Nf = 2) three-color (Nc = 3) Polyakov-loop-extended Nambu–Jona-Lasinio (PNJL) model at the finite chemical potential is investigated. New lattice gluon data for gluon thermodynamics are used defining the effective potential within polynomial and logarithmic forms of its approximation.

Characterization of Aluminized Layers on Inconel‐738 Alloy: Microstructure, Modeling of Aluminizing Kinetics, and Thermal Behavior

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study explored how effective nickel aluminide coatings are obtained in providing oxidation resistance applied to the Inconel 738 alloy, modeling with diffusion models. In the present study, kinetics and thermal behavior of the Inconel 738 alloy were studied by the low‐temperature thermoreactive aluminizing process, which was carried out at 625°C ...

Thermodynamic Model for Memory

open access: yesBioSystems
A thermodynamic model for memory formation is proposed. Key points include: 1) Any thought or consciousness corresponds to a thermodynamic system of nerve cells. 2) The system concept of nerve cells can only be described by thermodynamics of condensed matter.

A thermodynamic model of transcriptome formation [PDF]

open access: yesNucleic Acids Research, 2005
The genome supplies information on both the quality and quantity of the transcriptome. However, as it remains unknown how a cell determines transcript levels from the genome sequences, despite comprehensive knowledge of the cellular components involved, the quantity information held by the genome cannot as yet be derived from nucleotide sequences.

Innovative Processing of Compacted Waste Aluminum Alloy Powders via Controlled Remelting and Solidification

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates an efficient recycling route for out‐of‐spec AlSi10Mg atomized powders through compaction and arc remelting followed by suction casting. By correlating compaction load, cooling rate, and resulting microstructure, we show that intermediate pressures (50–80 kN) and rapid cooling refine dendrites, reduce porosity, and enhance ...

Thermodynamic Reassessment of the Na-Cu and Na-K Binary Systems

open access: yesMetals, 2018
The Na-Cu and Na-K systems are of significant interest due to the use of liquid sodium and melt of sodium and potassium in the nuclear industry as a cooling agent in nuclear reactors. In the present work, thermodynamic modeling of phase equilibria in the
