Thermodynamic scheme of inhomogeneous perfect fluid mixtures [PDF]

open access: yesClassical and Quantum Gravity, 2003
We analyze the compatibility between the geometrodynamics and thermodynamics of a binary mixture of perfect fluids which describe inhomogeneous cosmological models. We generalize the thermodynamic scheme of general relativity to include the chemical potential of the fluid mixture with non-vanishing entropy production.

Comprehensive Analysis of Performance of Air Cooled Multistage Thermoelectric Cooler

open access: yesShanghai Jiaotong Daxue xuebao
The multistage thermoelectric cooler can provide a larger temperature difference, but its refrigeration and economic performance decreases rapidly with the increase of stages.

Thermodynamics of perfect plasticity

open access: yesDiscrete and Continuous Dynamical Systems - S, 2013
Viscoelastic solids in Kelvin-Voigt rheology at small strains exhibiting also stress-driven Prandtl-Reuss perfect plasticity are considered quasistatic (i.e. inertia neglected) and coupled with heat-transfer equation through dissipative heat production by viscoplastic effects and through thermal expansion and corresponding adiabatic effects ...

Further theoretical refinement on the internal thermodynamics of perfect enzymes [PDF]

open access: yesBiochemical Journal, 1987
By solving simultaneously the equation for ‘uniform binding’ [Albery & Knowles (1976) Biochemistry 15, 5631-5640] and the equation for ‘differential binding’ [Chin (1983) J. Am. Chem. Soc. 105, 6502-6503], I derived the following simple equation for perfect enzymes (with single substrate and single product) under irreversible conditions: K2 = beta ...

Thermodynamics of the universe filled with perfect fluid having variable equation of state [PDF]

open access: yesAstrophysics and Space Science, 2010
We study the thermodynamics of the universe containing perfect fluid with equation of state $p=ωρ,ω$ is variable. Here we choose $ω$ to be a function of the red shift variable $z$ and four different choices of $ω$ has been investigated. Also the laws of thermodynamics are examined considering the universe bounded by the horizon (apparent) as a ...

Energy Efficiency Enhancement Potential of the Heat Pump Unit in a Seawater Source Heat Pump District Heating System

open access: yes, 2016
Seawater source heat pump district heating system is a renewable energy utilization system as it can utilize the sensible heat energy contained in the seawater. The energy efficiency of the system is always the main concern for the system researchers. So

Generalized Thermodynamic Relations for Perfect Spin Hydrodynamics

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters
Generalized thermodynamic relations are introduced into the framework of a relativistic perfect spin hydrodynamics. They allow for consistent treatment of spin degrees of freedom, including the use of spin tensors whose structure follows from microscopic calculations.
