Among NiMnGa-based quaternary systems, NiMnGaCu exhibits an interesting giant magnetocaloric effect thanks to the temperature overlapping of magnetic transition and thermoelastic martensitic transformation (TMT), in particular for compositions with ≈6 at%

Thermoelastic Equilibrium and Specimen Size Effects in Thermoelastic Martensitic Transformations
New thermodynamical concepts are introduced in thermoelastic martensitic transformations, since the conventional thermodynamical scheme cannot explain the upward shifts in M s and in experimentally determined equilibrium temperature T 0 * =(M s +A t )/2 with increasing specimen size which have been experimentally observed in Ti-Ni and Cu-Al-Ni alloys.

Study of Intrinsic Dissipation Due to Thermoelastic Coupling in Gyroscope Resonators
This paper presents analytical models, as well as numerical and experimental verification of intrinsic dissipation due to thermoelastic loss in tuning-fork resonator. The thermoelastic analytical governing equations are created for resonator vibrating at

This article develops a novel nonlocal theory of generalized thermoelastic material based on fractional time derivatives and Eringen’s nonlocal thermoelasticity. An ultra-short pulse laser heats the surface of the medium’s surrounding plane. Using the Laplace transform method, the basic equations and their accompanying boundary conditions were ...

A two dimensional fibre reinforced micropolar thermoelastic problem for a half-space subjected to mechanical force [PDF]
The purpose of this paper is to study the two dimensional deformation of fibre reinforced micropolar thermoelastic medium in the context of Green-Lindsay theory of thermoelasticity. A mechanical force is applied along the interface of fluid half

Recently, many researchers have been interested in the so-called theories of nonlocal elasticity (NET) and modified couple stress (MCS). The effect of size and dependence on the micron scale was predicted using this theory.

THERMOELASTIC EFFECTS IN VITREOUS SILICA
The Grüneisen parameter of vitreous silica is of order -10 and strongly temperature dependent at 1.5 K, whereas in most crystalline solids it is of order +1 and temperature independent at similar temperatures. In this investigation the Grüneisen parameter has been determined by means of thermoelastic measurements.

Photonic time crystals (PTCs) are systems in which electromagnetic parameters are modulated periodically in time, producing momentum bandgaps via temporal scattering rather than spatial Bragg processes. This review examines the theoretical frameworks, modeling, and computational tools for time‐varying media, and summarizes experimental demonstrations ...
