The objective of this paper is to study thermal inertia effect due to the fact of the properties of the hyperbolic equations based on LS theory in generalized thermoelasticity. The photoacoustic measurements of the thermal diffusivity of the thick plates of metals are discussed when the drum effect is not quenched. The dominant machanism responsible for the photoacoustic signal was determined.
