Numerical analysis of the propagation characteristics of Stoneley waves at an interface between microstretch thermoelastic diffusion solid half spaces

open access: yesLatin American Journal of Solids and Structures
This paper is concerned with the study of propagation of Stoneley waves at the interface of two dissimilar isotropic microstretch thermoelastic diffusion medium in the context of generalized theories of thermoelasticity.

Giant Electrostriction in Halide Perovskites Revisited With Double‐Modulation Interferometry

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 65, 13 August 2026.
A giant electrostrictive effect in lead halide perovskites had been reported previously. This work uses sensitive interferometry to measure the electromechanical response of various halide perovskite samples. The results reveal no intrinsic electrostrictive compression. Instead, the materials expand primarily under an applied electric field as a result

The influence of Thomson effect and inclined loads in an electro-magneto-thermoelastic solid with voids under green–Naghdi theories

open access: yesJournal of Ocean Engineering and Science, 2018
The present investigation deals with the 2-dimensional deformation in a homogeneous thermoelastic solid with voids subjected to inclined loads. The heat conduction equation is affected with the Thomson coefficient.

In Situ Preparation of Ti2Ni/NiTi Dual‐Phase Alloy With High Wear Resistance and Damping Performance by Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Many metallic components are frequently subjected to coupled environments of friction and vibration, stemming from interfacial contact and relative motion between mating parts or external stimuli. Consequently, it is imperative for these components to exhibit a synergy of high wear resistance and superior damping properties.

Thermal expansion of FeWO4 (ferberite) and FeWO4:Fe2WO6 (7:1): a comparative X‐ray and neutron diffraction study

open access: yesJournal of Applied Crystallography, Volume 59, Issue 4, Page 1238-1246, August 2026.
Temperature‐dependent single‐crystal X‐ray, powder X‐ray and neutron diffraction measurements reveal the thermal expansion behavior of FeWO4 from 2 to 1123 K. Significant differences between natural ferberite and a FeWO4:Fe2WO6 composite highlight the influence of multiphase and microstructural effects on derived thermoelastic parameters. The thermal ...

Rayleigh Waves in a Thermoelastic Half-Space Coated by a Maxwell–Cattaneo Thermoelastic Layer

open access: yesMathematics
This paper investigates the propagation of in-plane surface waves in a coated thermoelastic half-space. First, it investigates a special case where the surface layer is described by the Maxwell–Cattaneo thermoelastic approach, while the half-space is ...

Calcium Solubility of Bridgmanite in Subducted Basalt in Earth's Lower Mantle

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 14, 28 July 2026.
Abstract The calcium solubility in bridgmanite and the resulting abundance of davemaoite under lower‐mantle pressure‐temperature conditions have been under debate following a recent report of extensive calcium dissolution in bridgmanite. We experimentally investigated the calcium solubility in bridgmanite in a basaltic composition at pressures up to ...
