Redox‐Mediated Aluminum–Air Fuel Cells With Suppressed Hydrogen Evolution for Durable Power Generation

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
The redox‐mediated aluminum–air fuel cell (RM‐AAFC) integrates a soluble redox mediator, 7,8‐dihydroxy‐2‐phenazine sulfonic acid (DHPS), to facilitate the oxidation of aluminum and inhibit hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) through competitive reactions between DHPS reduction and HER on the Al surface.

Synergistic Bi–Te Antisite Defects and Crystalline‐Amorphous Hybrid Structure Enable Record‐High Thermoelectric Performance in Flexible Bi2Te2.7Se0.3 Films

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Flexible n‐type Bi2Te3 thin films require improved room‐temperature figure of merit (ZT) and mechanical stability. We show that synergistic Bi–Te antisite tuning and crystalline–amorphous hybridization optimizes carrier concentration, mobility, and phonon scattering.

Effect of the temperature difference between the hot and cold sides of TEC on specific energy consumption of thermoelectric distiller

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering
A novel strategy is proposed to reduce the specific energy consumption (SEC) of thermoelectric distillation system (TDS) through reducing the temperature difference between the hot and cold sides of thermoelectric cooler (ΔTTEC) in this work. In the TDS,

Factorization Machine‐Based Active Learning for Functional Materials Design with Optimal Initial Data

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
This work investigates the optimal initial data size for surrogate‐based active learning in functional material optimization. Using factorization machine (FM)‐based quadratic unconstrained binary optimization (QUBO) surrogates and averaged piecewise linear regression, we show that adequate initial data accelerates convergence, enhances efficiency, and ...
