Thermoelectric hybrid materials

open access: yes, 2013
Polycrystalline silicon sample was prepared by crushing, ball-milling and hot-pressing a single crystalline silicon wafer. The polycrystalline product was characterized with optical microscopy, TEM and SEM. Its porosity was found to be 15-22%.. The following thermoelectric properties of both the single crystal silicon and the polycrystalline sample ...

Pressure‐Induced Structural and Magnetic Evolution in Layered Antiferromagnet YbMn2Sb2

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Pressure tunes the delicate balance between structure, magnetism, and electronic states in quantum materials. In YbMn2Sb2, high‐pressure X‐ray and neutron diffraction reveal a trigonal‐to‐monoclinic transition near 3.5 GPa, accompanied by unconventional magnetic ordering.

Advancing Energy Materials by In Situ Atomic Scale Methods

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 15, Issue 11, March 18, 2025.
Progress in in situ atomic scale methods leads to an improved understanding of new and advanced energy materials, where a local understanding of complex, inhomogeneous systems or interfaces down to the atomic scale and quantum level is required. Topics from photovoltaics, dissipation losses, phase transitions, and chemical energy conversion are ...
