Methodology for extracting thermoelectric module parameters
Proceedings of the 21st IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference (IEEE Cat. No.04CH37510), 2004The fundamental temperature-dependent parameters of a thermoelectric (TE) module: coefficient, electrical resistance, thermal conductance, and figure-of-merit are necessary, among other factors, for the conception of models for this type of devices. In this work we present a methodology for calculating these parameters from observable variables, which ...

Photovoltaic-thermoelectric modules: A feasibility study
2014 IEEE International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference (I2MTC) Proceedings, 2014In this paper a hybrid solar system made with photovoltaic cells and thermoelectric modules has been analyzed. The theoretical energy conversion and the performance parameters have been investigated and compared with respect to design and geographic location using a simulated model.

The short-time-consumption melting and hot pressing processes were used to synthesize n-type and p-type Bi-Sb-Te thermoelectric materials. The synthesis materials were characterized and used for the module fabrication. The aluminium substrate was used instead of alumina substrate because it is easy to cut and to avoid fragility of the module.

Encapsulated Thermoelectric Modules for Advanced Thermoelectric Systems
Journal of Electronic Materials, 2013An encapsulated thermoelectric (TE) module consists of a vacuum-tight stainless-steel container in which an SiGe or BiTe TE module is encapsulated. This construction enables maximum performance and durability because: the thermal expansion mismatch between the hot and cold sides of the container can be accommodated by a sliding sheet in the container ...

Theoretical analysis of thermoelectric module
World Journal of Advanced Engineering Technology and Sciences, 2023A thermoelectric generator was used to recover waste heat from a heat source, such as engine exhaust. The key elements of the thermoelectric generator are heat exchanger and thermoelectric module. Thermoelectric modules convert heat energy to electrical energy using the Seebeck effect.

Synthesis of the Thermoelectric Nanopowder Recovered from the Used Thermoelectric Modules
Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2014We fabricated the thermoelectric powder using the used thermoelectric modules in a vehicle. As a starting material, the used thermoelectric modules were collected and separated to substrate, electrode, solder, and thermoelectric parts by a thermal process. The separation process was performed in a wet process at the critical temperature.

Vertical Silicon Nanowire Thermoelectric Modules with Enhanced Thermoelectric Properties
Nano Letters, 2019Thermoelectric modules based on silicon nanowires (Si-NWs) have recently attracted significant attention as they show an improved thermoelectric efficiency due to a decrease in thermal conductivity. Here, we adopt a top-down fabrication method to dramatically reduce the thermal conductivity of vertical Si-NWs.
