Measurement of parameters and degradation of thermoelectric modules

IEEE Instrumentation & Measurement Magazine, 2017
The vast and rising problems related with electric energy generation predominantly produced from fossil fuels, such as carbon dioxide emission and air pollution, demand a constant search for development of new renewable energy technologies. In this context, Energy Harvesting can be characterized as the harvesting and storage of portions of available ...

Development of film-shaped thermoelectric materials for thermoelectric modules

Applied Energy, 1998
Abstract Film-shaped thermoelectric materials have been prepared for thermoelectric modules for cooling or electricity generation. Flash evaporation and casting are adopted for preparing film-shaped p-, n-type (Bi,Sb)2(Te,Se)3 materials. The chemical characteristics and the thermoelectric properties of these samples have been investigated.

Experimental Test and Estimation of the Equivalent Thermoelectric Properties for a Thermoelectric Module

Journal of Energy Resources Technology, 2021
Abstract When analyzing and optimizing the performance of thermoelectric (TE) devices in theory, Seebeck coefficient, thermal conductivity, and electrical resistivity are indispensable TE properties. However, most manufacturers do not provide or overestimate these data.

Characterization of Thermoelectric Modules for Powering Autonomous Sensors

IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2009
The characterization of three commercial thermoelectric modules, which are designed for cooling/heating applications, is presented to employ the devices for power conversion, i.e., as thermoelectric generators (TEGs). The thermoelectric theory is briefly summarized at first, taking into account the relationship between the effective temperature ...

Ring-structured thermoelectric module

Semiconductor Science and Technology, 2007
A novel tube-shape thermoelectric module is fabricated from four ring-shaped thermoelements and its performance in electrical power generation is evaluated by measuring the power output as a function of temperature differences across the device. A theoretical model of the proposed configuration is established and employed for data analysis.

Investigation on binder for thermoelectric module

Proceedings ICT'03. 22nd International Conference on Thermoelectrics (IEEE Cat. No.03TH8726), 2004
Physical and electric properties of several silver pastes were investigated to replace conventional Pb-Sn solder used in thermoelectric module. The melting point of the conventional solder is relatively low and its temperature stability is insufficient for use in a high temperature region. Therefore silver paste (epoxy) is a candidate instead of the Pb-

Low temperature thermoelectric modules

Twenty-First International Conference on Thermoelectrics, 2002. Proceedings ICT '02., 2003
Optimization of modules based on the new low temperature thermoelectric material CsBi/sub 4/Te/sub 6/ has been investigated. These materials have shown very promising thermoelectric properties for cooling applications in the 100-300 K range, however doping and alloying optimization is essential toward developing high efficiency coolers.

Thermo-mechanical analysis on thermoelectric legs arrangement of thermoelectric modules

Renewable Energy, 2020
Abstract Thermoelectric (TE) modules have significant thermal stress and deformation affected by the temperature difference, which affect their working stability and life span. This work mainly studies the influence of configuration of TE modules on the stability.
