Facile Synthesis of CuxS Electrocatalysts for CO2 Conversion into Formate and Study of Relations Between Cu and S with the Selectivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Copper sulfide based electrocatalysts for CO2 conversion are selective for production of formate as major product. Transformations under electrochemical conditions result in significant sulfur loss, and this study examines the nature of how persistent, residual sulfur (observed as surface SO42– species and S dissolved in the electrolyte) can sustain ...

Kinetic Model of LiFePO4 Formation Using Non-Isothermal Thermogravimetric Analysis

open access: yesBulletin of Chemical Reaction Engineering & Catalysis, 2014
The formation reaction of LiFePO4 from decomposition of precursors LiOH, FeSO4.7H2O and (NH4)2HPO4 with mol ratio of Li:Fe:P=1:1:1 was investigated. The experiment was carried out by thermogravimetric differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA) method using ...

A Comprehensive Review on Thermal Coconversion of Biomass, Sludge, Coal, and Their Blends Using Thermogravimetric Analysis

open access: yes, 2020
Lignocellulosic biomass is a vital resource for providing clean future energy with a sustainable environment. Besides lignocellulosic residues, nonlignocellulosic residues such as sewage sludge from industrial and municipal wastes are gained much ...

TGA/FTIR Studies on the Thermal Degradation of some Polymeric Sulfonic and Phosphonic Acids and Their Sodium Salts [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
The thermal degradation of poly(vinyl sulfonic acid) and its sodium salt, poly(4-styrenesulfonic acid) and its sodium salt, and poly(vinylphosphonic acid) was studied by a combination of techniques, including TGA/FTIR, to identify the volatile products ...

Extracorporeal Catalytic Hemoperfusion Therapy for Refractory Septic Shock Using Ceria Nanoparticle‐Embedded Porous Microbeads

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces an extracorporeal hemoperfusion system incorporating porous microbeads embedded with autocatalytic ceria nanoparticles (CeNPs) for targeted reactive oxygen species (ROS) scavenging in septic shock. The blood‐compatible hemoperfusion cartridge demonstrated significant improvements in survival, hemodynamic stability, and organ ...

Characteristic Time Analysis of Biomass Torrefaction Phenomena - Application to Thermogravimetric Analysis Device

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2016
Torrefaction is a promising mild thermal treatment for biomass waste, typically between 473 and 573 K during a few tens of minutes in a default-oxygen atmosphere. The product is a solid, with properties close to coal.

Nanostructured Layered Copper Hydroxy Dodecyl Sulfate: A Potential Fire Retardant for Poly(vinyl Ester) (PVE) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Composites of poly(vinyl ester) (PVE) with copper hydroxy dodecyl sulfate (CHDS) were prepared by thermal curing. The efficiency of the additive, CHDS, in reducing flammability is demonstrated via cone calorimetry and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA ...

In‐Situ Growth of 2D MOFs as a Molecular Sieving Layer on SnS2 Nanoflakes for Realizing Ultraselective H2S Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 12, March 18, 2025.
The ultraselective H2S detection of the ZIF‐L/SnS2 heterostructure is demonstrated. The introduction of 2‐dimensional (2D) breathable ZIF‐L results in a substantial increase in H2S selectivity attributable to the molecular sieving effect, which impedes the permeation of gases with large kinetic diameters and high polarity.

Kinetic analysis of thermogravimetric data [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, 1961
Thermogravimetric data are generally more extensive than are comparable isothermal aging data, and therefore afford preliminary kinetic information in greater abundance. The kinetic analysis of the thermogram, by use of either its exact equation or a more convenient approximation formula, is straightforward in cases of volatilization via simple ...
