Tailoring the Anomalous Nernst Effect of Co/Pt Multilayers Grown on Strained Flexible Substrates

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials
This work investigates the impact of in‐plane strain on the Anomalous Nernst Effect (ANE) of Co/Pt multilayers deposited on polyimide. Strain is introduced directly into the growing films by bending the substrates during deposition.

Thermomagnetic measurements of soil iron minerals: the role of organic carbon [PDF]

open access: yesGeophysical Journal International, 2006
SUMMARY Thermomagnetic measurements, particularly measurements of the Curie or Neel temperature, are often used to identify magnetic minerals in rocks or sediments. In many samples it is impossible to determine the Curie or Neel temperature as mineral changes occur during heating.

Testing determinations of Thellier paleointensities on 1962 and 1983 lava flows and scoriae in Miyakejima, Japan

open access: yesEarth, Planets and Space, 2023
Using a fully automated magnetometer, test measurements of paleointensity by the Thellier method were performed on basaltic lava sections, including upper and lower clinkers through the lava interior, and scoriae that erupted from Miyakejima Volcano in ...

Thermomagnetic analysis applied for identification of lithogenic and pedogenic iron oxides in topsoils from Bulgaria [PDF]

open access: yesGeoStudies
Identification of magnetic minerals, which determine the magnetic properties of natural rocks, sediments and soils, is of crucial importance for any further interpretation of their magnetic signature in environmental or paleogeographical context.

Magnetocaloric properties of Co-doped Mn0.5Fe0.5Ni1−xCoxSi0.94Al0.06 intermetallic alloys

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2023
We have synthesized a series of Co-doped Mn0.5Fe0.5Ni1−xCoxSi0.94Al0.06 (0.025 ≤ x ≤ 0.05) alloys by arc melting followed by a rapidly quenched vacuum suction casting technique and studied the magnetic and magnetocaloric properties of the system.

475 °C Embrittlement in a duplex stainless steel UNS S31803

open access: yesMaterials Research, 2001
The susceptibility of a duplex stainless steel UNS S31803 to thermal embrittlement at 475 °C was evaluated by means of mechanical tests (impact energy and hardness), magnetic measurements (hysteresis and thermomagnetic analysis) and scanning electron ...

Magnetic anisotropy as an evidence of local magnetic moments in paramagnetic phase of Cr-V alloys

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2023
Chromium-rich Cr-V alloys exhibit three phases. The paramagnetic phase (P) above Néel temperature (TN), a transverse polarization spin-density-wave (SDW) phase (AF1) below TN and above the spin–flip temperature (TSF), when the longitudinal polarization ...
