Superparamagnetic-like Micrometric Single Crystalline Magnetite for Biomedical Application Synthesis and Characterization

open access: yesMagnetochemistry, 2022
Single-crystalline magnetite (Fe3O4) particles having a size beyond the nanometric range (1 µm to 50 µm) and showing high (close to the bulk value) saturation-specific magnetization (σs = 92 emu/g), were obtained by the hydrothermal decomposition of the ...

The Magnetic Signature of Shear Zones in Marbles and Experimental Simulations

open access: yesGeoscience Data Journal, Volume 13, Issue 4, October 2026.
This dataset explores how strain, microstructure, texture and magnetic susceptibility interact in natural and experimental shear zones. It includes data from low‐ and high‐temperature marble shear zones and analogue experiments simulating different deformation regimes.

The influence of mechanochemical activation and thermal treatment on magnetic properties of the BaTiO3-FexOy powder mixture [PDF]

open access: yesScience of Sintering, 2015
Powder mixture of 50 mass % of barium titanate (BaTiO3) and 50 mass % of iron (Fe) was prepared by solid-state reaction technique, i.e. ball milled in air for 60 min, 80 min, 100 min, 120 min and 150 min. During mechanochemical activation it was

IDENTIFICATION OF MINING RESIDUAL POLLUTANTS IN THE SONORA RIVER BASIN (NORTHWESTERN MEXICO) USING THERMOMAGNETIC MEASUREMENTS

open access: yesRevista Internacional de Contaminación Ambiental, 2020
In Cananea, Sonora (northwestern Mexico), occurred a spilling of 40 000 m³ of an acid solution coming from the Buenavista del Cobre mine, which reached some tributaries and the main water stream of the Sonora River basin. This study aims to evaluate magnetic properties as proxies to assess residual pollution in soils and sediments affected by this kind

Emplacement Conditions and Alteration of Volcanic Deposits Inferred From Magnetic Properties of the ICDP Eger Drill Site S4 (Bažina Maar), Czechia

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 131, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract Titanomagnetite in alkaline maar deposits exhibits variable syn‐ and post‐crystallization alteration linked to wet emplacement and groundwater fluctuations, which remain poorly documented. Magnetic and mineralogical analyses of lapilli, scoria, and basalt from ICDP Eger drill cores S4 and S4b (Bažina maar, western Eger Graben, Czechia) reveal ...

Designing Stable Periodic Magnetization Textures by Tailoring Anisotropies and Applying Geometrical Transformation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 53, 2 July 2026.
This work explores the possibility to design stable periodic magnetization textures by transforming a 2D film into a rolled‐up 3D architecture and back. In case of an isotropic exchange‐biased layer architecture, the magnetization encoded in the 3D state evolves into a spin‐spiral pattern with controlled periodicity after unrolling.

Magnetic reversibility accompanied by thermal hysteresis in magnetocaloric materials: A lock-in thermography study

open access: yesMaterials & Design
Lock-in infrared thermography (LIT) was used to obtain the reversible adiabatic temperature change (ΔTadrev) from an oscillating magnetic field up to a maximum of 1.5  T.

On the Possible Cause of Sudden Storage Modulus Increase during the Heating of PM FeMnSiCrNi SMAs

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2022
A sudden increase in storage modulus (ΔE′) was repeatedly recorded during the heating of powder metallurgy (PM) 66Fe-14Mn-6Si-9Cr-5Ni (mass. %) shape memory alloy specimens subjected to dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA), under constant applied strain ...

Insights on Lightning‐Induced Remanent Magnetization From High‐Current Impulse Experiments

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 131, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract Lightning strikes generate intense transient magnetic fields capable of inducing strong and complex remanent magnetizations in rocks, potentially overprinting their original paleomagnetic record. To investigate the mechanisms and outcomes of lightning‐induced remanent magnetization, we conducted controlled high‐current impulse experiments on ...
