Thermomechanical Processes for Nonferrous Alloys

2005
Abstract The thermomechanical processing (TMP) of conventional and advanced nickel and titanium-base alloys is aimed at altering or enhancing one or more metallurgical features within the material and component. This article presents a number of examples of the TMP of nickel-base superalloys and titanium alloys.

Shock Thermomechanical Processing of Superalloys

1979
Nickel-base superalloys have become the primary material used in gas turbine engines for blades, brackets, disks, and other components. Most of the effort on nickel base materials has been to extend their high-temperature capabilities to increase the efficiency of the engine.
