A Transparent Long‐Term Cooling Green Plant‐Like Window for Net‐Zero Energy Buildings

open access: yesCarbon Neutralization, Volume 5, Issue 4, July 2026.
In this work, we report a bioinspired transparent green plant‐like window that integrates passive cooling, thermal insulation, and solar‐driven waste heat recovery to reduce building energy consumption. Outdoor field tests and 168‐h solar simulator exposure confirm long‐term thermal stability and cooling up to 21.9°C, and then simulations across 30 ...

Sensitivity of Double‐Diffusive Mixed Convection in an Enclosure With a Zigzag Bottom Wall and a Torsionally Oscillating Lid Using Hybrid Nanofluid

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 7, July 2026.
This study investigates the nature of sensitivity of an unsteady double‐diffusive mixed convective analysis in a trapezoidal enclosure featuring a zigzag bottom wall and a torsionally oscillating lid. This cavity is filled by a hybrid nanofluid (Ag‐MgO‐H2O). The cavity also contains internal heat generation.

On the Non‐Dimensionalization and Mathematical Equivalence of MHD Nanofluid Jeffery–Hamel Flow

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 7, July 2026.
This study corrects inconsistencies in the governing equation and Hartmann number used in MHD nanofluid Jeffery–Hamel flow models. The corrected nanofluid formulation is shown to be equivalent to the classical MHD Jeffery–Hamel equation through appropriate parameter scaling.

Thermo‐Hydrodynamic Processes of Microparticles in Fractures: A CFD–DEM Approach

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical and Analytical Methods in Geomechanics, Volume 50, Issue 10, Page 4230-4246, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Controlling fracture permeability plays a critical role in subsurface energy applications, particularly in geothermal energy production and enhanced carbon sequestration, where regulating fluid flow is essential. The use of microcapsules has become a promising solution to enhance fracture permeability by providing a controlled sealing ...

Monthly Energy, Exergy, Environmental, and Economic Performance and Green Hydrogen Production Analysis of a Flat‐Plate Solar Collector‐Driven Organic Rankine Cycle System Under Variable Mass Flow and Irradiance

open access: yesChemistryOpen, Volume 15, Issue 7, July 2026.
The feasibility of using a hybrid flat‐plate solar collector–organic Rankine cycle–proton exchange membrane system for the generation of electricity, heat, and hydrogen simultaneously is analyzed. The energy efficiency of the solar thermal system reaches 23.82%, and hydrogen production of up to 13.62 kg/month is achieved while reducing CO2 emissions ...

Modeling the Thermal Properties of Hydrogen‐Based Direct Reduced Iron Using Computational Thermodynamics and Machine Learning

open access: yessteel research international, Volume 97, Issue 7, Page 3851-3869, July 2026.
Hydrogen‐based direct reduced iron (H‐DRI) melts differently from scrap and carbon‐bearing DRI. This work combines differential scanning calorimetry experiments, FactSage thermodynamics, and simple composition‐based regression to predict solidus, liquidus, heat capacity, and enthalpy for H‐DRI.

Low‐Temperature Hydrothermal Synthesis of PbUO4

open access: yesJournal of the American Ceramic Society, Volume 109, Issue 7, July 2026.
A low‐temperature hydrothermal route for synthesizing phase‑pure orthorhombic PbUO4 is demonstrated using metaschoepite and lead nitrate at 150°C–240°C. Systematic variation of pH, temperature, and reaction duration reveals that PbUO4 formation is strongly controlled by solution chemistry, with hydrated Pb‐U phases forming at lower pH and direct ...

Al–Cu Composite Casting of Laser‐Deoxidized Copper: Bonding, Interfacial Chemistry, and Thermal Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 12, 17 June 2026.
This study investigates laser‐based oxide removal of Cu inserts in oxygen‐free conditions and examines long‐term oxidation kinetics and surface chemistry under different atmospheres via X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Al–Cu compound casting with differently oxidized surfaces is performed, and intermetallic phase formation, morphology, and thermal ...
