Polyether Based Thermoplastic Polyurethane Melt Blown Nonwovens [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Engineered Fibers and Fabrics, 2006
A series of melt blown samples were produced from three hardness grades of ether based thermoplastic polyurethane elastomers (TPU). The fabrics were tested to investigate their structure-property relationship in a melt blown process. Solution viscosities

Hierarchical Multi‐Material Architectures With Gradient Design for Dynamic‐Range Flexible Tactile Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Hierarchical multi‐material TPMS lattices are engineered as flexible tactile sensors by combining soft and stiff elastomeric layers with a conformal conductive coating. The bilayer architecture delivers sensitivity at low pressures while maintaining a broad detectable range under large loads, enabling reliable pressure and vibration monitoring for ...

Skin‐Like Tri‐Modal Sensors Based on Soft Piezoelectric and Ionic Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Inspired by the multimodal perception of human skin, a soft, skin‐like tri‐modal sensor is presented. The device incorporates an ionically conductive, piezoelectric, elastic composite as its active layer, enabling independent detection of temperature, static strain, and dynamic strain within a single two‐terminal architecture.

Partially bio-based thermoplastic elastomers by physical blending of poly(hydroxyalkanoate)s and poly(ethylene-co-vinyl acetate)

open access: yeseXPRESS Polymer Letters, 2014
Partially bio-based thermoplastic elastomers (bio-TPE) were designed and prepared by physical blending a commercial grade poly(hydroxyalkanoate)s (PHBM, Metabolix) and poly(ethylene-co-vinyl acetate) (EVA).

Flexible Pressure Sensor With Co‐Optimized Sensitivity and Linearity Based on Gradient Toroidal Microstructures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A flexible piezoresistive pressure sensor with gradient toroidal CNT/PDMS microstructures is reported. The hierarchical geometry enables sequential electrode contact, achieving a sensitivity of 256.20 kPa−1 and linear response (R2 = 0.99) over 0–1000 kPa.

Polyacrylate-based thermoplastic elastomers

open access: yes, 2004
Thermoplastic elastomers are one of the fastest growing material groups. They can be processed like thermoplastics but their properties are close to those of vulcanized elastomers.
