Crystalline morphology of thermoplastic starch/talc nanocomposites induced by thermal processing
A structural study about the changes induced by plasticization of native corn starch was carried out in this work. The influence of talc nanoparticles presence during starch thermal processing was also evaluated.

Thermoplastic starch films reinforced with talc nanoparticles
Nanocomposite films of thermoplastic corn starch (TPS) with talc particles were obtained by thermo-compression in order to study the effect of filler on structure, optical, and thermal properties. Talc increased the films rigid phase, thus their cross-sections resulted more irregular.

Multilayer Cellulose Acetate–Viscose Films for Bio‐Based, Bio‐Degradable Packaging Applications
Cellulose acetate (CA) and cellulose foils stick together comprehensively after mild cellulose sodium hydroxide treatment and heated compression. For combined foils, water barrier properties correlate with CA thickness. Oxygen permeation suffers due to the sodium hydroxide pre‐treatment induced foil changes. The composite represents a biodegradable and

Manufacturing process and mechanical testing of lignin polymer composites. ABSTRACT Lignin is a plant‐derived, the second most abundant natural polymer, and a waste byproduct of the pulp industry. Incorporation of lignin into plastic composites using scalable approaches is commercially favored and low carbon‐cost.

Horchata Processing Waste: A New Source for Starch Film Production
Starch films were obtained by solvent casting and thermoprocessing using glycerol as a plasticiser from a new starch source: tiger nut waste from horchata production. The tiger nut starch (TNS) films showed a barrier capacity to water vapour and gases in
