Mechanical and Morphological Perspectives on PLA‐Based Thermoplastic Vulcanizates (TPVs): A Brief Review [PDF]

open access: goldMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, Volume 310, Issue 2, February 2025.
This review highlights PLA‐based Thermoplastic Vulcanizates (TPVs) as promising materials that combine the processability of thermoplastics and elastomeric properties. Dynamic vulcanization of PLA‐based thermoplastic elastomers leads to new morphology such as sea‐sea or honeycomb structures.

Studies on the influence of structurally different peroxides in polypropylene/ethylene alpha olefin thermoplastic vulcanizates (TPVs)

open access: diamondeXPRESS Polymer Letters, 2008
Novel thermoplastic vulcanizates (TPVs) based on polypropylene (PP) and new generation ethylene-octene copolymer (EOC) have been developed by dynamic vulcanization process, which involves melt-mixing and simultaneously crosslinking a rubber with a ...

Influence of Viscosity Ratio on the Mechanical, Morphological, and Rheological Properties of Thermoplastic Dynamic Vulcanizates from Devulcanized Tire Rubber and Polypropylene [PDF]

open access: goldMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, Volume 310, Issue 12, December 2025.
This study explores how polypropylene viscosity influences the structure and performance of thermoplastic dynamic vulcanizates made with devulcanized tire rubber. Higher matrix viscosity results in better dispersion of the rubber phase, forming smaller domains and enhancing mechanical properties. The findings support more efficient recycling strategies

Experimental Study for Mechanical Properties of Thermoplastic Vulcanizates [PDF]

open access: diamondIndian Journal of Science and Technology, 2015
Thermoplastic Elastomers (TPEs) have been widely applied in the injection molding industry based on their advantages. TPEs are gradually being used instead of engineering thermoplastic polymers, which are adopted for precision parts. It is therefore necessary to study the mechanical properties of TPEs molding, which are influenced by the injection ...

Lithium Plating Using a Thermoplastic Vulcanizate Electrolyte

open access: hybridJournal of The Electrochemical Society
Lithium metal anodes have generated significant interest due to their high theoretical capacity. However, issues such as dendrite growth or cell failure caused by lithium loss with either liquid electrolytes or solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs) have hindered its widespread commercialization.

A preliminary study on the new thermoplastic vulcanizates

open access: diamondPolimery, 2007
Thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) are new type of elastomer materials with comparable and sometimes better mechanical properties than conventional elastomers, while having processing characteristics of thermoplastic materials. Thermoplastic vulcanizates (TPE-V) are elastomer/thermoplastic polymer microheterogenic blends in which elastomer phase is ...
