NIR‐II Imaging‐Guided Photothermal Activation of a TRPV4‐Targeted Nanoplatform Delivering Cycloastragenol to Promote Microglia Reprogramming and α‐Synuclein Clearance in Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 26, 8 May 2026.
ABSTRACT Current therapies for Parkinson's disease (PD) fail to concurrently address α‐synuclein (α‐syn) aggregation and microglia‐mediated neuroinflammation. Herein, we engineer a near‐infrared‐II (NIR‐II) phototheranostic nanoplatform, CAG/FD1080@MM‐aTRPV4, for synergistic regulation of microglial function and real‐time monitoring of PD pathology. We

Protein‐Template Gold Nanoclusters Induce Differentiation and Modify the Functional Properties of Primary Astrocytes

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, Volume 6, Issue 5, May 2026.
The incubation of primary astrocytes with fAuNCs‐BSA induces: (A) long‐term effects including fAuNCs‐BSA internalization, red cell fluorescence, differentiation, upregulation of Ca2+ signaling, Cl‐current, and cell volume regulation. B) Short‐term (200 ms) stimulation with UV LED light increases in Ca2+ signaling and inhibition of K+ current. Astrocyte

CNC–PNIPAM Drug Delivery System Improves Endometrial Receptivity via Natural Killer Cell Immune Tolerance in Endometriosis

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, Volume 6, Issue 5, May 2026.
An injectable CNC–PNIPAM hydrogel is developed for intrauterine co‐delivery of levonorgestrel and botropase. This platform reprograms uterine natural killer cells toward an immune–tolerant phenotype and enhances endometrial receptivity marker expression. The results demonstrate a promising strategy to counteract endometriosis–associated infertility and

Influence of Boron Nitride Nanosheets on the Properties of Gelatin–Chitosan Bioinks for Extrusion‐Based 3D Bioprinting

open access: yesBiopolymers, Volume 117, Issue 3, May 2026.
Gelatin–chitosan‐based bioinks reinforced with hexagonal boron nitride nanosheets (BNNSs) are developed for extrusion‐based 3D bioprinting. BNNS incorporation enhances rheological behavior, printability, and thermal response without altering the chemical structure, enabling the fabrication of stable, tissue scaffolds with improved shape fidelity and ...

Effect of Peanut Shell Powder as a Pore‐Forming Additive in the Production of Ceramic Membranes

open access: yesInternational Journal of Ceramic Engineering &Science, Volume 8, Issue 3, May 2026.
This study investigates the sustainable use of an agricultural by‐product, Peanut shell powder (PSP), to create pores in clay‐alumina membranes sintered at 1150°C. With 30 wt.% PSP, porosity reaches 49%, achieving high water flux (∼2300 L·h−1·m−2) and usable strength (17 MPa). Ideal for low‐cost membrane and effluent treatment.
