Thermosensitive Lanthanide Complexes of Hyaluronan
Biomacromolecules, 2002Addition of trivalent lanthanide salts to solutions of hyaluronan (HA), a naturally occurring anionic polysaccharide, resulted in an unexpected reverse-temperature phase transition (RTPT); i.e., the complexes were soluble when cooled but precipitated when warmed.

Thermosensitive hydrogels for drug delivery
Expert Opinion on Drug Delivery, 2011Controlled drug delivery has been widely applied in areas such as cancer therapy and tissue regeneration. Thermosensitive hydrogel-based drug delivery systems have increasingly attracted the attention of the drug delivery community, as the drugs can be readily encapsulated and released by the hydrogels.Thermosensitive hydrogels that can serve as drug ...

Thermosensitivity in a reconstructed microtic ear
Scandinavian Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Hand Surgery, 2008The aim of this study was to evaluate thermo-thresholds in autologous reconstructed microtic ears. Nineteen patients with unilateral microtia were investigated no less than two years after the last operation (3.6+/-1.7 years). Their normal corresponding ear acted as controls.

Preparation and Use of Thermosensitive Polymers
2003Restoration of organ structure and function, utilizing tissue engineering technologies, often requires the use of a temporary porous scaffold. The function of the scaffold is to direct the growth of cells migrating from the surrounding tissue (tissue conduction), or of cells seeded within the porous structure of the scaffold.

Physiological Mechanisms of Skin Thermosensitivity
1976Publisher Summary This chapter presents the physiological mechanisms of skin thermosensitivity. The firing rate changes of the rabbit's nose back skin thermoreceptors are studied under physiological fluctuations of the environmental temperature. The delaying of thermoreceptor firing rate changes with respect to the skin temperature can be explained ...
