Thermosensitive polymer-modified liposomes

Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews, 2001
Temperature-sensitive liposomes are considered to be a promising tool to achieve site-specific delivery of drugs. These liposomes have been prepared using lipids whose membranes undergo a gel-to-liquid crystalline phase transition a few degrees above physiological temperature. However, recently, temperature-sensitization of liposomes has been attempted

Intra-abdominal thermosensitivity in the rabbit as compared with spinal thermosensitivity

Pflgers Archiv European Journal of Physiology, 1973
In rabbits, intra-abdominal temperature sensors of the dorsal wall of the abdominal cavity were selectively stimulated by means of thermodes perfused with water of temperatures ranging from 12–50°C. Respiratory acceleration and vasodilatation of the skin could be elicited as thermoregulatory responses by intraabdominal warming.

Thermosensitive Gold Nanoparticles

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2004
Thermosensitive gold nanoparticles were fabricated by conjugating Au with a thiol-terminated poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) or PPA; this polymer stabilizer exhibits a temperature transition while undergoing a hydrophilic to hydrophobic transformation. The introduction of PPA onto gold nanoparticles has sensitized Au nanoparticles with unique temperature ...

Nonpolymeric Thermosensitive Benzenetricarboxamides

Langmuir, 2010
A new class of nonpolymeric thermosensitive materials based on the benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxamide (BTC) structural platform are described. We observed that the benzocrown ether-substituted BTC derivatives undergo an unusual temperature-dependent reversible solubility change in aqueous solution.

Thermoreceptors and thermosensitive afferents

Neuroscience & Biobehavioral Reviews, 2009
Cutaneous thermosensation plays an important role in thermal regulation and detection of potentially harmful thermal stimuli. Multiple classes of primary afferents are responsive to thermal stimuli. Afferent nerve fibers mediating the sensation of non-painful warmth or cold seem adapted to convey thermal information over a particular temperature range.

Thermosensitive Biodegradable Polydepsipeptide

Macromolecular Bioscience, 2005
AbstractSummary: A poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAAm)‐like biodegradable thermosensitive polydepsipeptide, poly[Glc‐Asn(N‐isopropyl)], was synthesized by introducing an isopropyl amide group into poly[Glc‐Asn]. Poly[Glc‐Asn(N‐isopropyl)] was degraded in vitro by cleavage of the ester bonds in the main chain in water at room temperature.

Thermosensitive lichen amyloidosis

International Journal of Dermatology, 2004
AbstractBackground  A 26‐year‐old male presented with a 3‐year history of lichen amyloidosis. On examination, there was a pigmented papular eruption with a ripple pattern affecting the limbs and trunk but sparing the axillae, antecubital and popliteal fossae, central chest, neck and face.

Thermosensitive hard spheres

Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2008
We demonstrate an extension of a UV-Vis spectroscopy method to determine the phase boundaries for thermosensitive colloids as an alternative to the time-consuming sedimentation method. The Bragg attenuation peak from colloidal crystallites was monitored during the quasi-equilibrium colloidal crystal melting.

Latencies in a thermosensitive pathway

Experientia, 1974
