Heat Transfer Performance of Biphilic Surfaces With Diatomite‐Based Composite Coatings in a Closed Thermosyphon System

open access: yesHeat Transfer, Volume 55, Issue 3, Page 1608-1638, May 2026.
ABSTRACT This study investigates the thermal performance of innovative biphilic boiling surfaces designed for CPU cooling applications using a two‐phase closed thermosyphon (TPCT) system. The surfaces were fabricated by applying composite coatings—comprising epoxy resin and diatomite particles functionalized with APTES and PFOTS silanes— onto Al1050 ...

HYDRODYNAMICS OF TWO-PHASE LOOP THERMOSYPHON

open access: yesFrontiers in Heat Pipes, 2010
Two-phase loop thermosyphons are important devices for large heat transport to a longer distance. The hydrodynamics of such device is closely related with the evaporator and condenser details. The evaporator is modeled by an integral balance of bubble flow, considering the relative velocity difference between the vapor and liquid.

Analysis of Thermal Dynamics of Floating Photovoltaic Systems

open access: yesSolar RRL, Volume 10, Issue 6, 29 March 2026.
A scalable methodology couples computational fluid dynamics‐derived wind decay functions with a dynamic heat transfer model to capture spatial temperature variations across large floating photovoltaic systems and is validated with data from the Netherlands floating photovoltaic systems (FPV) site.

Analysis of the possibility of applications for a two-phase reverse thermosyphon in passive heat transport systems

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2018
Devices called reverse thermosyphon enable passive heat transfer when the heat source is above the place of its receipt. This is often the case in solar installations for the preparation of hot water.

Phase Change Materials in Energy Systems: Performance, Reliability, Life Cycle Evidence, and Design Guidelines

open access: yesInternational Journal of Energy Research, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Despite the growing maturity of solid–liquid phase change material (PCM) research, deployable latent heat thermal energy storage (LHTES) systems remain constrained by a disconnect between material‐level advances and application‐level performance under realistic operating conditions.

Efficient heat integration within discretely heat integrated distillation columns using liquid injection

open access: yesAIChE Journal, Volume 71, Issue 8, August 2025.
Abstract Electrification of distillation processes through discretely heat integrated distillation columns (D‐HIDiC) is an effective approach to enhance energy efficiency and lower carbon emissions. For separating systems with high temperature lift, multi‐stage compression and inter‐stage cooling are necessary to link the high‐pressure rectifier and ...

Operation of a Two-Phase Reverse Loop Thermosyphon

open access: yes, 2016
A prototype two-phase reverse-loop thermosyphon (RLT) was fabricated to transport thermal energy downwards to a thermal storage tank. The effect the filling ratio exerted on the thermal performance of the RTL was investigated by conducting experiments ...
