Total Chemical Synthesis of Interleukin‐15 and Interleukin‐2: Taming Protein Hydrophobicity and Aggregation by a Versatile Solubilizing Strategy

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A reducible solubilizing tag strategy (RST‐2.0) enables the synthesis, purification and ligation of difficult peptides while being readily removable just during folding, which overcomes the common challenges from protein hydrophobicity and aggregation. With this method, we achieved the first total synthesis of native and N‐glycosylated IL‐15 as well as

76 | DECODING THES PATHOGENESIS: HOW TTC37 SHAPES GUT HOMEOSTASIS AND PERISTALSIS

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Histochemistry
Trichohepatoenteric Syndrome (THES) is an ultra-rare, multisystem disorder caused by biallelic mutations in the TTC37 or SKIV2L genes, which encode essential subunits of the SKI complex, a cofactor for the RNA exosome. The hallmark of THES is intractable

Academic rankings: an approach to rank portuguese universities Rankings académicos: un abordaje para clasificar las universidades portuguesas Rankings acadêmicos: uma abordagem ao ranking das universidades portuguesas

open access: yesEnsaio, 2010
The academic rankings are a controversial subject in higher education. However, despite all the criticism, academic rankings are here to stay and more and more different stakeholders use rankings to obtain information about the institutions' performance.

Thermoelectric PANI/TeNWs Fiber Based Microsensor for Passive Temperature and Active Chemical Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Continuous wet‐spinning of PANI with TeNWs yields a multifunctional microfiber. Oriented TeNWs impose chain alignment and enhance π‐electron delocalization, boosting the Seebeck coefficient to 59.9 µV K−1 for passive temperature sensing (1 K detection limit), while achieving high pH sensitivity (59.25 mV pH−1) and rapid NH3 response (0.96 s).

Correction of Ineffective Erythropoiesis and Normalization of Iron Homeostasis After Exagamglogene Autotemcel in Transfusion‐Dependent β‐Thalassemia

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Hematology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Exagamglogene autotemcel (exa‐cel) is a one‐time, ex vivo, CRISPR‐Cas9 gene edited cell therapy approved for patients with transfusion dependent β‐thalassemia (TDT) aged 12–35 years. In a Phase 3 study (CLIMB THAL‐111), exa‐cel treatment resulted in reactivation of fetal hemoglobin and increases in total hemoglobin, leading to transfusion ...

Citrus aurantium honey‐mediated gut homeostasis and anti‐inflammation via Thorl/Nprl2‐TORC1 signaling: Network pharmacology and Drosophila validation

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
The study employed a four‐tiered strategy: (1) UHPLC‐FTMS profiling of Citrus aurantium honey to characterize its chemical composition; (2) network pharmacology analysis integrating target prediction, protein–protein interaction networks, and KEGG pathway enrichment to identify the Thor1/Nprl2‐TORC1 axis as a key mechanistic pathway; (3) in vitro ...
