Objective Immunohistochemically (IHC) measured transactive response DNA‐binding protein 43 (TDP‐43) inclusions are observed in Alzheimer's disease (AD) and are associated with medial temporal lobe atrophy. Accumulation of cryptic exons occurs in AD in response to TDP‐43 pathology.

Alzheimer's Disease Co‐Pathology and Cognitive Impairment in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis
Objectives Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and Alzheimer's disease (AD) share neuropathological features, including tau, amyloid, and TDP‐43 pathology. This study investigated whether AD‐related pathological changes are associated with cognitive impairment ALS. Methods Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF total‐tau, phosphorylated‐tau, beta‐amyloid) and plasma

Gephyrin Neurological Autoimmunity
Gephyrin is a postsynaptic scaffold protein essential for inhibitory neurotransmission. Gephyrin‐immunoglobulin G (IgG) was reported, decades ago, in a single case of paraneoplastic stiff‐person‐like syndrome, but its broader clinical relevance remains unknown.

Mutations in Ftkn cause Fukuyama muscular dystrophy, and heart failure is the main cause of death in thes patients. Here the authors show that acute elimination of Fktn in adult mice causes early mortality, and this is associated with myocyte dysfunction,

Cases of Trichohepatoenteric Syndrome (Syndromic Diarrhea) with Underlying Crohn’s Disease
Tricho-hepato-enteric syndrome (syndromic, phenotypic diarrhea, SD/THES) is a rare inborn disease, which affects bowels. It is caused by the mutation of genes SKIV2L or TTC37. Manifestations include intrauterine hypotrophy, severe chronic diarrhea, which

New records of aphid parasitoids (Hymenoptera) from Colombia [PDF]
Aphid parasitoids have been recorded in many countries around the globe, however records in Colombia are few. Here, five primary parasitoids species, Aphidius platensis Brèthes, 1913, Aphidius funebris Mackauer, 1961, Aphidius matricariae ...

Is theS-meson a baryonium state?
If theS-meson is assumed to be a baryonium state composed of an isospin one diquark and antidiquark, it will be produced in\(\bar pp\) reactions as a mixture ofI=0 andI=1 baryonium states. The experimentally observed large ratio of the cross sections of the reactions\(\bar pp \to S \to \bar pp\) and\(\bar pp \to S^0 \to \bar nn\) is then explained on ...

On the nature of theS * and related scalar resonances
Recent data on ππ andK−K production are analysed in order to explore resonant effects in isospin zeroS wave scattering near theK−K threshold. Various coupled-channel formalisms are considered and information from above and below threshold is used. We identify, and determine the properties of,S* and ɛ (1400) resonance structures.

Surface Charges Guided Quasi‐TEM‐mode Microwave Propagation along Dielectric Nanowire
According to Maxwell's equations, a single‐conductor transmission line cannot allow TEM‐mode electromagnetic wave propagation, however, this is based upon the assumption that dielectric material is isolated from the environment. In practice, surface electrostatic charges widely existed in nano‐materials with large surface‐to‐volume ratio.
