Effect of Time and Temperature on Thickened Infant Formula

Nutrition in Clinical Practice, 2016
Background: Unlike adult populations, who primarily depend on liquids for hydration alone, infants rely on liquids to provide them with hydration and nutrition. Speech‐language pathologists working within pediatric medical settings often identify dysphagia in patients and subsequently recommend thickened liquids to reduce aspiration risk.

Thickened Formulas Used for Infants with Dysphagia: Influence of Time and Temperature

Dysphagia, 2021
Infant dysphagia is commonly managed using thickened formulas. Substantial research investigates thickening of a variety of beverages for adults and children, yet few studies address the unique considerations of thickened formula for infants. Understanding the consistency and behaviour of thickened formula will guide clinicians and parents to make ...

Elements Affecting Thickening Time of a Cement Blend

SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition, 1985
ABSTRACT This paper is a continued study of the work presented in SPE 13041, "Improved Bulk Blending Techniques for Accurate and Uniform Cement Blends." Further investigation was conducted to better understand the factors which affect the physical performance of a cement blend, specifically the thickening time.

Cornstarch thickened formula reduces oesophageal acid exposure time in infants

Digestive and Liver Disease, 2005
Infant regurgitation is a phenomenon causing worldwide parental distress and anxiety. Parental reassurance and dietary advices regarding feeding techniques and volumes are helpful in the management. Guidelines also recommend the use of thickened formula.

Thickening Time Compatibility of Geopolymer Cement for Drilling Application

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2017
This paper investigates the composition of geopolymer cement for thickening time under elevated temperature and pressure. Geopolymer based-cement becoming popular in construction industries because of its improved properties either chemically and physically as compared to Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC).

Time-Temperature-Pressure Superposition in Polymer Thickened Liquid Lubricants

Journal of Tribology, 2014
Shear-dependent viscosities have been measured over a range of temperature and pressure for seven engine oils blended to have kinematic viscosity of 14 mm2/s at 100 °C with two base oils and four viscosity modifiers. Elevated pressure measurements were performed with a pressurized thin-film Couette viscometer and ambient pressure measurements were done

Time-dependent viscous behaviour of shear-thinning/shear-thickening cement pastes

Advances in Cement Research, 2023
According to what is extensively and logically assumed, a better anti-thixotropic behaviour than thixotropy was expected for shear-thickening cement pastes. However, the shear-thickening Portland and volcanic cement pastes studied here showed apparent thixotropic behaviour when step-up tests were performed.

Thickening human milk: the effect of time, temperature, and thickener for infants with dysphagia

European Journal of Pediatrics
The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of time, temperature, and thickener on expressed human milk thickened for infants with dysphagia. Thickening agents included raw oatmeal cereal, commercial thickeners (Gelmix, Purathick), pureed fruits, pureed vegetables, yogurt, and pudding. The International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative

INFLUENCE OF TIME THICKENING ON THE WHIPPABILITY OF CREAMS

Journal of Texture Studies, 1981
Flow properties of creams containing milk fat (Cream A), vegetable fat (Cream C), and vegetable fat plus milk fat (Cream B) were determined with a coaxial cylinder viscometer for a wide range of shear rates. All creams examined showed time thickening.

Real-time measurements of local myocardium motion and arterial wall thickening

IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics and Frequency Control, 1999
We have already developed a new method, namely, the phased tracking method, to track the movement of the heart wall and arterial wall accurately based on both the phase and magnitude of the demodulated signals to determine the instantaneous position of an object.
