Heat Conduction Analysis in Bodies Containing Thin-Walled Structures by Means of Hybrid BNM with an Application to CNT-Based Composites

open access: yesJSME International Journal Series A, 2004
This paper discusses an implementation of Hybrid Boundary Node Method (Hybrid BNM) to the heat conduction analysis within bodies containing thin-walled structures. As an application, the thermal analysis in carbon nanotubes (CNT) based composites is presented.

Microstructure, Thermal Transport, and Dry‐Sliding Tribology of Powder‐Metallurgy Al7075 Composites Reinforced With Sol–Gel‐Derived ZnO–rGO Hybrid Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Sol–gel‐derived ZnO–rGO hybrid nanoparticles enable Al7075 powder‐metallurgy composites to achieve concurrent gains in hardness and thermal conductivity while markedly lowering friction and wear. The hybrid architecture couples ZnO‐based load support with rGO‐assisted lamellar sliding and heat spreading, revealing a promising route toward lightweight ...

Intimate Geographies: Bodies, Underwear and Space in Hamilton, New Zealand

open access: yes, 2007
This thesis examines the ways in which a small group of young Pākehā women use underwear to construct a range of complex gendered subjectivities. I explore how these subjectivities are influenced by both material and discursive spaces.

Moringa Oleife Attenuates Testicular Damage Induced by High Fructose Diet in Albino Rats: Histological Study [PDF]

open access: yesThe Egyptian Journal of Histology
Introduction: High fructose diet is an important factor that causes insulin resistance and leads to damage of the testicles and infertility. Moringa oleifera leaves used for medicinal purposes can improve testicular damage induced by high fructose diet ...

Stretching the Printability Metric in Direct‐Ink Writing with Highly Extensible Yield‐Stress Fluids

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces “drawability” as a new metric for assessing printability in direct‐ink writing, focusing on gap‐spanning performance and speed robustness. By designing yield‐stress fluids with high extensibility, we demonstrate that extensional strain‐to‐break significantly enhances printability.

The Lightweight Design of a Dump Truck Frame based on Dynamic Responses

open access: yes, 2012
This paper develops a new scheme for the lightweight design of heavy dump truck frames based on the characteristics of dynamic responses. The dynamic response is predicted using a finite element (FE) model which is verified by an experimental mode ...

Printed Integrated Logic Circuits Based on Chitosan‐Gated Organic Transistors for Future Edible Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Edible electronics needs integrated logic circuits for computation and control. This work presents a potentially edible printed chitosan‐gated transistor with a design optimized for integration in circuits. Its implementation in integrated logic gates and circuits operating at low voltage (0.7 V) is demonstrated, as well as the compatibility with an ...

Engineering approach for modeling the deformation and fracture behavior of thin welds

open access: yesResults in Engineering
Structural components made of thin tailor-welded blanks (TWB) are essential for the design of modern lightweight car bodies. Investigating the formability of these blanks requires detailed information about the mechanical behavior of the welds. Therefore,

Optoelectronic Synaptic Devices Using Molecular Telluride Phase‐Change Inks for Three‐Factor Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Optoelectronic synaptic devices based on solution‐processed molecular telluride GST‐225 phase‐change inks are demonstrated for three‐factor learning. A global optical signal broadcast through a silicon waveguide induces non‐volatile conductance updates exclusively in locally electrically flagged memristors.

A Flexible Ultra-Thin Ultrasonic Transducer for Ice Detection on Curved Surfaces

open access: yesAerospace
Icing phenomena occur on aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) under extreme weather conditions. Ultrasonic detection technology is an effective method for measuring ice formation while maintaining the shape of the structure.
