Two-dimensional thin-layer chromatography of rat liver phosphatides

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1962
A system of two-dimensional thin-layer chromatography was developed that separated rat liver phosphatides into several phosphate-positive spots in about 2 hr developing time.

Wafer‐Scale 2D High‐Entropy Transition Metal Dichalcogenide Thin‐Film Catalysts for Efficient and Durable Photoelectrochemical Hydrogen Production

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A wafer‐scale 2D high‐entropy (MoWTaNbRu)S2 thin‐film catalyst with a distorted 1T phase integrated onto p‐Si photocathode is designed for highly efficient and durable photoelectrochemical hydrogen evolution reaction. The high‐entropy effect in layered transition metal dichalcogenides optimizes hydrogen adsorption energetics, accelerates photogenerated

6-Deoxyhexoses froml-Rhamnose in the Search for Inducers of the Rhamnose Operon: Synergy of Chemistry and Biotechnology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
In the search for alternative non‐metabolizable inducers in the l ‐rhamnose promoter system, the synthesis of fifteen 6‐deoxyhexoses from l ‐rhamnose demonstrates the value of synergy between biotechnology and chemistry.

Composition Restoration Enables Recycling of Mixed‐Cation, Mixed‐Halide Perovskites for Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Compositional drift during processing prevents the direct recycling of mixed‐cation, mixed‐halide perovskites. This work introduces a framework to quantitatively audit and restore recovered materials, enabling closed‐loop recycling with efficiencies comparable to virgin perovskites.

Development of solid-phase extraction and methylation procedures to analyse free fatty acids in lipid-rich plant materials [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The objective of the present work was to develop a solid-phase extraction-gas chromatography (SPE-GC) method to isolate and measure free fatty acids (FFA) in lipid-rich seeds for immediate use in our investigations on the non-orthodox storage behaviour ...

Exploring the Potential of Zero‐Dimensional Carbon Nanomaterials in Photoluminescent, Electrochemiluminescent and Electrochemical Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Zero‐dimensional carbon nanomaterials are presented as multifunctional platforms linking structure, property, and sensing performance. Surface engineering and heteroatom doping modulate electron‐transfer and luminescent behavior, enabling electrochemical, photoluminescent, and electrochemiluminescent detection. Fundamental design principles, analytical

Electrochemically Engineered PEDOT:PSS/MXene Composite Electrode for the Label‐Free Procalcitonin Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Procalcitonin is a key biomarker for bacterial infections, but conventional detection methods are often time‐consuming. Here, we present an electrochemical sensor based on highly conductive Ti3C2Tx MXene combined with PEDOT:PSS, enabling direct antibody immobilization, while a bovine serum albumin coating provides antifouling protection.
