Thiocarbamates from

open access: yesNatural Product Communications, 2006
Two new thiocarbamates ( 1 and 2 ) along with two known compounds have been isolated from the ethyl acetate extract of Moringa oleifera seeds. The new compounds were characterized as O-n-butyl-4-[(α-L-rhamnopyranosyloxy)benzyl] thiocarbamate (E) ( 1 ...

Novel Cholinesterase Inhibitors Based on O-Aromatic N,N-Disubstituted Carbamates and Thiocarbamates

open access: yesMolecules, 2016
Based on the presence of carbamoyl moiety, twenty salicylanilide N,N-disubstituted (thio)carbamates were investigated using Ellman’s method for their ability to inhibit acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and butyrylcholinesterase (BChE).

Synthesis of Secondary Amides from Thiocarbamates [PDF]

open access: yesOrganic Letters, 2018
The synthesis of secondary amides from readily accessible and bench-stable substituted S-phenyl thiocarbamates and Grignard reactants is reported. Oxidative workup allows recycling of the thiolate leaving group as diphenyl disulfide. Diphenyl disulfide can be transformed into S-phenyl benzenethiosulfonate, a reactant required for thiocarbamate ...

Mono- and di-thiocarbamate inhibition studies of the δ-carbonic anhydrase TweCAδ from the marine diatom Thalassiosira weissflogii

open access: yesJournal of Enzyme Inhibition and Medicinal Chemistry, 2018
The inhibition of the δ-class carbonic anhydrase (CAs, EC 4.2.1.1) from the diatom Thalassiosira weissflogii, TweCAδ, was investigated using a panel of 36 mono- and di-thiocarbamates chemotypes that have recently been shown to inhibit mammalian and ...

A novel three-component reaction between isocyanides, alcohols or thiols and elemental sulfur: a mild, catalyst-free approach towards O-thiocarbamates and dithiocarbamates

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2019
A new multicomponent reaction has been developed between isocyanides, sulfur and alcohols or thiols under mild reaction conditions to afford O-thiocarbamates and dithiocarbamates in moderate to good yields.

Intoxication with carbamate insecticides and toxicological risk to animals

open access: yesЖивотновъдни науки, 2022
Carbamate biocidal compounds (carbamic acid derivatives – aryl and alkyl esters) were discovered in the early 1950s. Shortly afterwards, along with organophosphorus insecticides (ORPs), they began to be widely used in the form of carbamate insecticides (

Hydroxycobalamin catalyzes the oxidation of diethyldithiocarbamate and increases its cytotoxicity independently of copper ions

open access: yesRedox Biology, 2019
It is known that some metals (Cu, Zn, Cd, Au) markedly increase the toxic effect of thiocarbamates. It was shown in the present study that hydroxycobalamin (a form of vitamin B12, HOCbl), which incorporates cobalt, significantly enhances the cytotoxicity

One‐Pot Synthesis of Thiocarbamates [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2021
AbstractAn efficient isocyanide‐based synthesis of S‐thiocarbamates was discovered and thoroughly investigated. The new reaction protocol is a one‐pot procedure and allows the direct conversion of N‐formamides into thiocarbamates by initial dehydration with p‐toluene sulfonyl chloride to the respective isocyanide and subsequent addition of a sulfoxide ...

Agricultural exposures to carbamate herbicides and fungicides and central nervous system tumour incidence in the cohort AGRICAN

open access: yesEnvironment International, 2019
Background: Pesticides exposures could be implicated in the excess of Central Nervous System (CNS) tumors observed in farmers, but evidence concerning individual pesticides remains limited.

Catalytic Hydrogenation of Thioesters, Thiocarbamates, and Thioamides [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the American Chemical Society, 2020
Direct hydrogenation of thioesters with H2 provides a facile and waste-free method to access alcohols and thiols. However, no report of this reaction is documented, possibly because of the incompatibility of the generated thiol with typical hydrogenation catalysts. Here, we report an efficient and selective hydrogenation of thioesters.
