Otto Billeter or How the Oldest [3,3]-Sigmatropic Rearrangement Went to Neuchâtel Otto Billeter oder wie die älteste [3,3]-sigmatrope Umlagerung nach Neuenburg kam: Teil1

open access: yesCHIMIA, 1999
A historical study on the early chemistry of organic isothiocyanates (mustard oil) and thiocyanates (rhodanides) is presented. The isomeric structures of these compounds were settled by the famous investigations of August Wilhelm Hofmann ...

Solvation Structure and Dynamics of the Thiocyanate Anion in mixed N,N‐Dimethylformamide‐Water Solvents: A Molecular Dynamics Approach

open access: yesChemPhysChem, Volume 26, Issue 6, March 15, 2025.
The solvation structure and dynamics of the SCN− anion in mixed N, N‐Dimethylformamide (DMF)‐water liquid solvents is investigated using classical molecular dynamics simulations. A preferential solvation of SCN− by the water molecules is observed in the first hydration shell, followed by a second shell consisting by both DMF and water molecules.

The Conductivity of Thiocyanates in Methyl Alcohol

open access: yes, 1930
This investigation is a continuation of the work of Frazer and Hartley on the conductivity of uni-univalent salts in methyl alcohol, which dealt mainly with the halides and nitrates of the alkali metals.

Drug Critical Limits for Urgent Physician Notification

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Critical limits represent quantitative decision thresholds for drugs that require immediate clinician notification and potential life‐saving intervention. United States hospitals lack a national standard for drug critical limits. We collected critical limits from 417 US hospitals across all 50 states and Washington, D.C.; of these, 411 maintained drug ...

Chemical communication with volatile semiochemicals in Phyllotreta species (Coleoptera, Chrysomelidae): a minireview

open access: yesInternational Journal of Horticultural Science, 2005
Phyllotreta species (Coleoptera, Chrysomelidae, Halticinae) rank among the most important horticultural pests in the Northern Hemisphere. Leaf damage caused by flea beetles upsets the water balance, blocks plant growth and sometimes causes a high level ...

New‐Generation Integrated Devices: Multiple‐Energy Utilization and Integration Systems Based on Perovskite Photovoltaics

open access: yesEcoEnergy, EarlyView.
This review highlights emerging integrated energy systems based on perovskite photovoltaics, including PSC–thermoelectric, photovoltaic–electrochemical, self‐charging, and building‐integrated architectures. By coupling multiple energy conversion and storage pathways, these multifunctional platforms enable enhanced solar utilization, improved stability,

Benzoylphenyl thiocyanates are new, effective inhibitors of the mycobacterial resuscitation promoting factor B protein

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical Microbiology and Antimicrobials, 2017
Background Resuscitation promoting factors (Rpfs) are the proteins involved in the process of reactivation of the dormant cells of mycobacteria. Recently a new class of nitrophenylthiocyanates (NPTs), capable of inhibiting the biological and enzymatic ...

Synergistic‐Induced Perovskite Phase Distribution and Lattice Stabilization for Efficient and Stable Sky‐Blue PeLEDs

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
We have developed a multifunctional buried‐interface engineering strategy using phenethylammonium thiocyanate to regulate quasi‐2D perovskite crystallization and stabilize the lattice. The synergistic effects of SCN− and PEA+ steric confinement promote phase redistribution toward n = 2, suppressing interfacial defects and enabling the production of ...

Antimicrobial activity of allylic thiocyanates derived from the Morita-Baylis-Hillman reaction

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Microbiology, 2014
Bacterial resistance to commonly used antibiotics has been recognized as a significant global health issue. In this study, we carried out the screening of a family of allylic thiocyanates for their action against a diversity of bacteria and fungi with a ...
