Mono- and Binuclear Copper(I) Complexes of Thionucleotide Analogues and Their Catalytic Activity on the Synthesis of Dihydrofurans

Inorganic Chemistry, 2014
The reaction of copper(I) halides with 2-thiouracil (TUC), 6-methyl-2-thiouacil (MTUC), and 4-methyl-2-mercaptopyrimidine (MPMTH) in the presence of triphenylphosphine (tpp) in a 1:1:2 molar ratio results in a mixed-ligand copper(I) complex with the formulas [Cu2(tpp)4(TUC)Cl] (1), [Cu2(tpp)4(MTUC)Cl] (2), [Cu(tpp)2(MPMTH)Cl]·(1)/2CH3OH (3), [Cu(tpp)2 ...

Optical rotatory dispersion and circular dichroism of sulfur-containing nucleosides and nucleotide and of the ribonuclease-thionucleotide complex

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Nucleic Acids and Protein Synthesis, 1969
Abstract Optical rotatory dispersion (ORD) and circular dichroism (CD) of sulfur-containing nucleosides (4-thiouridine, 6-thioguanosine and 6-thioinosine) and a nucleotide (4-thiouridine 2′(3′)-monophosphate) as well as a complex between ribonuclease (EC 2.7.7.16) and the nucleotide were measured in the near-ultraviolet and ultraviolet regions.

Activation of 5-lipoxygenase by guanosine 5′-O-(3-thiotriphosphate) and other nucleoside phosphorothioates: Redox properties of thionucleotide analogs

Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1989
The stable nucleotide analog guanosine 5'-O-(3-thiotriphosphate) (GTP gamma S) was found to be a very potent activator of 5-lipoxygenase in cell-free preparations from rat polymorphonuclear (PMN) leukocytes, causing a 10-fold stimulation of arachidonic acid oxidation at concentrations as low as 0.5-1 microM.

Stability constants of Mg2+ and Cd2+ complexes of adenine nucleotides and thionucleotides and rate constants for formation and dissociation of MgATP and MgADP.

Biochemistry, 1985
Stability constants for the Mg2+ and Cd2+ complexes of ATP, ADP, ATP alpha S, ATP beta S, and ADP alpha S have been determined at 30 degrees C and mu = 0.1 M by 31P NMR. Besides being of the utmost importance for determining species distributions for enzymatic studies, these constants allow an estimation of the preference of Cd2+ for sulfur vs.
