Synthesis and SAR evaluation of novel thioridazine derivatives active against drug-resistant tuberculosis [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, 2017
The neuroleptic drug thioridazine has been recently repositioned as possible antitubercular drug. Thioridazine showed antitubercular activity against drug resistant mycobacteria but it is endowed with adverse side effects. A small library of thioridazine

Thioridazine: a selective inhibitor of peroxisomal β-oxidation in vivo [PDF]

open access: yesFEBS Letters, 1985
In vivo administration of the phenothiazine drug, thioridazine, inhibits hepatic peroxisomal β-oxidation in mice. In starving animals, 3-hydroxybutyrate concentration is not decreased by thioridazine treatment.

Concentrations of thioridazine and thioridazine metabolites in erythrocytes

Psychopharmacology, 1986
The concentrations of thioridazine and its main metabolites in erythrocytes from 61 thioridazine-treated patients were determined by gas-liquid chromatography. The mean and range of the erythrocyte concentrations, expressed as percentage of the corresponding plasma concentrations, were: thioridazine, 5.1% (2.0-10.6); side-chain sulfoxide, 5.6% (1.6-10 ...

Artifacts in the analysis of thioridazine and other neuroleptics

open access: yesJournal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis, 1993
Although the sensitivity to light of thioridazine and its metabolites has been described, the problem does not seem to be widely acknowledged. Indeed, a survey of the literature shows that assays of these compounds under light-protected conditions have ...
