Metabolism of Thiosulfate in Chlorobium
1988Thirty-five years ago, Helge Larsen (1952) described the first isolation of a thiosutfate-utilizing Chlorobium which he named Chlorobium thiosulfatophilum. It differed from Chlorobium limicola (Nadson, 1906) just by this one property.

A colorimetric method for the determination of thiosulfate
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta, 1957A colorimetric procedure for the determination of thiosulfate in concentration as low as 1.10−5M is described. This method is based on the conversion of thiosulfate to thiocyanate in the presence of cyanide and cupric ions, followed by determination of thiocyanate as the iron complex.

Thiosulfate-oxidizing enzyme was purified from Thiobacillus thioparus extracts 120- to 160-fold and the properties were studied. The enzyme had a molecular weight of 115 000 and contained 2 moles of non-heme iron. Ferricyanide was a much better electron acceptor than cytochrome c, but with cytochrome c the Km for thiosulfate was lowered from 0.1 mM to

Abstract Pharmacokinetic aspects of the protection by thiosulfate against HN 2 toxicity have been studied in mice. Determinations of blood concentrations of HN 2 following subcutaneous injection of the compound demonstrated a rapid resorption of the latter followed by a slower elimination from the blood stream.

The effect of thiosulfate addition on the metastable pitting behavior of stainless steels 304L (UNS S30403) and lean duplex stainless steel (LDX2101, UNS S32101) in 0.6 M NaCl solution was studied. It was found that metastable pits initiate preferentially on the ferritic phase of S32101.

The catalytic decomposition of thiosulfate by pyrite
Applied Surface Science, 2018Abstract The rate-limiting step during catalytic decomposition of thiosulfate by pyrite was studied in detail in this paper. The results show that Co and Ni impurities in synthetic pyrite increase thiosulfate decomposition, but F impurities in synthetic pyrite reduce thiosulfate decomposition.
