Assessing Intermediate Formation and Electron Competition during Thiosulfate-Driven Denitrification: An Experimental and Modeling Study.

Environmental Science and Technology, 2022
There is increasing interest in thiosulfate-driven denitrification for low C/N wastewater treatment, but the denitrification performance varies with the thiosulfate oxidation pathways. Models have been developed to predict the products of denitrification,

Thiosulfate oxidation in sulfur-reducing Shewanella oneidensis and its unexpected influences on the cytochrome c content.

Environmental Microbiology, 2021
Thiosulfate, an important form of sulfur compounds, can serve as both electron donor and acceptor in various microorganisms. In Shewanella oneidensis, a bacterium renowned for respiratory versatility, thiosulfate reduction has long been recognized but ...

Specific H2S Release from Thiosulfate Promoted by UV Irradiation for Removal of Arsenic and Heavy Metals from Strongly Acidic Wastewater.

Environmental Science and Technology, 2020
The removal of arsenic and heavy metals (HMs) from strongly acidic wastewater by hydrogen sulfide (H2S) is an efficient method. However, traditional sulfuration reagents (Na2S, FeS, CaS, etc.) rapidly release H2S under acidic conditions via spontaneous ...

Piezo-Photocatalytic Reduction of Au(I) by Defect-Rich MoS2 Nanoflowers for Efficient Gold Recovery from a Thiosulfate Solution

ACS Sustainable Chemistry and Engineering, 2020
To achieve a more efficient gold recovery from a thiosulfate solution, piezo-photocatalytic reduction of Au(I) with defect-rich MoS2 nanoflowers (DR-MoS2 NFs) as a catalyst was proposed in this wor...

Bis(diisopropylammonium) thiosulfate and bis(tert-butylammonium) thiosulfate

Acta Crystallographica Section C Crystal Structure Communications, 2013
Two new dialkylammonium thiosulfates, namely bis(diisopropylammonium) thiosulfate, 2C6H16N+·S2O32−, (I), and bis(tert-butylammonium) thiosulfate, 2C4H12N+·S2O32−, (II), have been characterized. The secondary ammonium salt (I) crystallizes withZ= 4, while the primary ammonium salt (II), with more hydrogen-bond donors, crystallizes withZ= 8 and a ...

S-[4-(Trimethylammonio)phenyl]thiosulfate, an aromatic organic thiosulfate

Acta Crystallographica Section C Crystal Structure Communications, 2004
The title compound, C9H13NO3S2, exists as a zwitterion with crystallographic mirror symmetry. The central S atom of the S2O3 group adopts a slightly distorted tetrahedral coordination geometry. The S—S bond length is 2.1137 (7) A, while the S—O bond lengths are in the range 1.4417 (12)–1.457 (2) A.

Separation of thiosulfate and the polythionates in gold thiosulfate leach solutions by capillary electrophoresis

ELECTROPHORESIS, 2003
AbstractA technique for the separation of thiosulfate (S2O32−), polythionates (SxO62−, x = 3 to 5) and the gold(I) thiosulfate complex (Au(S2O3)23‐) using capillary electrophoresis with simultaneous UV detection at 195 and 214 nm is presented. The five species were separated in under 3 min with a total analysis time of 8 min, using an electrolyte ...
