Compounds of glycine with metal sulfates and thiosulfates: glycine cobalt sulfate pentahydrate, glycine sodium thiosulfate dihydrate and glycine potassium thiosulfate

Acta Crystallographica Section C Crystal Structure Communications, 2005
In the crystal structures of the title compounds, hexaaquacobalt(II) tetraaquadiglycinatocobalt(II) bis(sulfate), [Co(H2O)6][Co(C2H5NO2)2(H2O)4](SO4)2, (I), poly[diaqua-mu3-glycinato-di-mu4-thiosulfato-tetrasodium(I)], [Na4(C2H5NO2)(S2O3)2(H2O)2]n, (II), and poly[mu2-glycinato-mu4-thiosulfato-dipotassium(I)], [K2(C2H5NO2)(S2O3)]n, (III), all atoms are ...

Recombinant Escherichia coli with sulfide:quinone oxidoreductase and persulfide dioxygenase rapidly oxidises sulfide to sulfite and thiosulfate via a new pathway.

Environmental Microbiology, 2016
Many heterotrophic bacteria contain sulfide:quinone oxidoreductase (SQR) and persulfide dioxygenase (PDO) genes. It is unclear how these enzymes cooperate to oxidise sulfide in bacteria.

The impact of thiosulfate oxidation products on the oxidation of gold in ammonia thiosulfate solutions

Minerals Engineering, 2003
Abstract The continued use of cyanide in the recovery of gold is being questioned due to environmental and public concerns. The present paper describes research into the gold thiosulfate leaching system, which is considered to be the most promising alternative to cyanide.

Protective effect of thiosulfate and metabolic thiosulfate precursors against toxicity of nitrogen mustard (HN2)

Biochemical Pharmacology, 1973
Abstract Pharmacokinetic aspects of the protection by thiosulfate against HN 2 toxicity have been studied in mice. Determinations of blood concentrations of HN 2 following subcutaneous injection of the compound demonstrated a rapid resorption of the latter followed by a slower elimination from the blood stream.

Effect of Thiosulfate on Metastable Pitting of 304L and S32101 in Chloride- and Thiosulfate-Containing Environment

Corrosion, 2016
The effect of thiosulfate addition on the metastable pitting behavior of stainless steels 304L (UNS S30403) and lean duplex stainless steel (LDX2101, UNS S32101) in 0.6 M NaCl solution was studied. It was found that metastable pits initiate preferentially on the ferritic phase of S32101.

The catalytic decomposition of thiosulfate by pyrite

Applied Surface Science, 2018
Abstract The rate-limiting step during catalytic decomposition of thiosulfate by pyrite was studied in detail in this paper. The results show that Co and Ni impurities in synthetic pyrite increase thiosulfate decomposition, but F impurities in synthetic pyrite reduce thiosulfate decomposition.
